Work you'll do
As a Healthcare Solutions Manager specializing in Epic ODBA (Operational Database Administration) on the AI & Engineering – Industry Solutions team, you will be responsible for leading Epic ODBA tier initiatives and cloud migrations for healthcare clients with a focus on security, compliance, and performance. You will:
- Lead end-to-end migrations of Epic ODBA environments to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), ensuring secure, compliant transitions aligned to HIPAA and client policies.
- Implement, configure, and operate the Epic ODBA tier of the Epic application; coordinate with Epic teams to validate compatibility and optimize performance.
- Assess current Epic ODBA infrastructure and design migration roadmaps, including cutover, rollback, resiliency, and cost-optimization plans.
- Oversee ETL processes; establish controls to maintain data integrity, security, and governance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (data engineers, Epic analysts, IT, and clinical informatics) to define requirements, manage risks, and deliver milestones on time.
- Implement best practices for cloud security, healthcare data governance, and regulatory compliance; tune environments for scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project teams; document designs, runbooks, and operational procedures; stay current on Epic systems, cloud technologies, and healthcare analytics.
- AWS experience and Red Hat/Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) skills are a plus.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in cloud migration, including 2+ years working with healthcare clients
- 3+ years of experience managing Epic ODBA environments and projects; Epic ODBA certification
- 3+ years of experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- 3+ years of experience with data warehousing, ETL, and analytics in cloud environments
- Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
Preferred:
- Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, PhD)
- Experience with AI/ML tools and frameworks (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, Azure ML)
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements and data privacy laws
- Knowledge of Epic’s database architecture
- Experience defining future-state business processes
- Experience using Microsoft Project for planning/tracking and Microsoft Visio for documentation
- Experience delivering via Agile/Scrum methodology
- Familiarity with virtual health, cloud, interoperability, data analytics, and/or automation
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration or certification
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $137,400 to $253,000.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
