Work You’ll Do

As a Business Strategy Senior Manager, you will be responsible for helping clients identify new sources of competitive advantage, drive growth, improve margin, and optimize operations. You will work at the intersection of corporate, customer, M&A, workforce, and operational strategy, using scenario planning and futures thinking to help clients evaluate industry change and shape enterprise transformation.

  • Lead strategy engagements for Industrial Products & Construction clients from problem definition through recommendation, decision support, and implementation planning
  • Advise senior client executives on growth strategy, portfolio strategy, business model evolution, and transformation priorities
  • Develop strategic roadmaps, business cases, operating model recommendations, and executive-ready materials for board and C-suite discussions
  • Lead teams, coach practitioners, and coordinate cross-functional Deloitte capabilities to deliver integrated client solutions
  • Support business development activities, including framing opportunities, shaping proposals, and participating in pursuit efforts and executive discussions

Deloitte’s Business Strategy team helps clients tackle their most critical growth and competitive decisions by working with senior leaders to determine where to play, how to win, and which enterprise choices will create the most value. The team advises on growth strategy, portfolio strategy, market positioning, business model innovation, and strategic planning, using data-driven insights to shape strategy and define the business models, operating models, and capabilities needed to deliver it. This work also helps clients maximize the ROI of technology investments and use digital trends to build future-ready strategies.

The Industrial Products & Construction sector is undergoing rapid advances in supply chain management, advanced analytics capabilities, Smart Buildings, and Industry 4.0 innovation. While currently serving the vast majority of Industrial Products and Construction Fortune 500 companies, we work towards aggressive revenue growth goals over the next 3-5 years. We are committed to helping our clients work with newly empowered customers, hyper-connected digital ecosystems, and expansion in data in collaboration with Deloitte’s Offering Portfolios.

Within this practice, the Business Strategy team works with Industrial Products & Construction clients to shape evolving business models, scale and transform operations, modernize processes and technologies, and enhance customer experience in dynamic markets.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 8+ years of management consulting experience focused on Corporate & Business Unit Strategy, Strategic Planning, Growth Strategy, Commercial Strategy, and Business Transformation
  • 8+ years of experience in strategy, performance improvement, operational transformation, or transactions – with a track record of leading high-stakes, complex engagement from problem-definition through execution
  • 6+ years of experience advising and building trusted relationships with senior executives, shaping, and implementing strategies, improvement initiatives, or transaction-related solutions that drive growth, operational performance, or enterprise value
  • 6+ years of experience developing and delivering executive-ready materials, including strategic roadmaps, board and C-suite presentations [PowerPoint], business cases, operating model designs, and transformation or integration plans
  • 5+ years of experience in the Industrial Products & Construction sector
  • 4+ years of experience leading teams and influencing others, including coaching and mentoring staff across varying levels of experience
  • 2+ years of experience driving the sales cycle – framing client opportunities, leading pursuit teams, and developing compelling proposal content for executive discussions
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university with strong undergraduate academic record.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in business, such as a Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Experience defining cross-industry trends and translating implications into business or strategic recommendations
  • Experience with human resources, information technology, finance, procurement, or commercial operations functions
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), e-commerce, or content management platforms
  • Experience using analytical methods to develop business analyses and recommendation materials
  • Experience with scenario planning

This compensation range is specific to California, Colorado, Hawaii, Jersey City, Nevada, New York state, Virginia and Washington state and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $223,700 to $372,900.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
