Role Overview

The AE will provide leadership and direction for both sales and marketing functions in an entrepreneurial but fast-growing organization. This is not a sit-behind-a-desk role. The AE will be on the ground with fleet operators, local stakeholders, and government partners—building relationships, negotiating contracts, and designing creative solutions. Early on, their success will be measured by their ability to generate pipeline opportunities, close deals, and lead by example. As traction builds, the AE has potential to grow a team to expand the business. Ideal candidates will bring entrepreneurial energy and have the flexibility to develop repeatable sales processes, build partnerships, and help us determine where best to scale.

Note that while our team collaborates remotely, this is a boots-on-the-ground leadership role—based in Brooklyn and driving sales engagement with customer prospects across NYC.

Key Responsibilities:

Drives Sales Execution: Personally own and close deals with fleet operators, transit brokers, and relevant partners across NYC. Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract.

Build Sales Forecasts: Develop monthly and quarterly EV sales forecasts and maintain accountability for forecast accuracy as business scales.

Build the Sales Engine: Design, test, and operationalize sales strategies, including broker partnerships and new market segments. Build on existing foundations to enhance scalable sales processes including CRM management, lead generation strategies, frameworks for scaling and forecast development.

Validate New Channels: Explore and define partnership-based sales models (e.g. NEMT brokers, industry associations). Assess their viability and establish internal capacity to support them.

Engage with Fleet & Transit Stakeholders: Develop a strong presence across fleet owners, CBOs and local brokers. Develop customized solutions for customers and serve as a trusted advisor.

Contribute to Go-to-Market Strategy: Collaborate with Ops, Finance and Marketing teams to inform pricing, customer segment positioning and new product opportunities.

Act as a Field Leader: Represent Dollaride at site visits, partner meetings, and local events. Build relationships with government agencies, even when contracting comes via RFPs.

Lead by Example: Demonstrate high performance, accountability, and adaptability in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.

Required Work Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a senior sales leader and generator of new B2B sales in a rapidly growing mission-driven corporation.
  • Demonstrated success in sourcing, negotiating, and closing deals from start to finish—ideally with a multi-stakeholder or complex buyer journey.
  • Strong relationships in the fleet operations, transportation, mobility or EV sectors.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to communicate effectively with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Demonstrated strength in building and managing relationships with senior leadership, existing customers, and high-potential prospects.
  • Proven track record of hitting and exceeding sales goals (i.e. monthly or annual quotas) in previous roles.
  • Ability to operate without a rigid sales structure—comfortable building and iterating on process as the business scales.
  • Ability to work within a startup environment where priorities shift quickly and autonomy is essential.
  • Skilled at storytelling, negotiation and building trust-based relationships.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
  • Must be located in commutable distance to Brooklyn, New York.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Consultative selling skills and long-cycle deal experience.
  • Experience developing new market channels and partnerships.
  • Familiarity with NYC’s transportation landscape or community-based programs is a plus.
  • Experience building and scaling teams across multiple roles.
  • Experience developing and launching products and services into new markets.

Compensatation Structure:

In addition to base salary, Dollaride offers performance-based compensation and equity grants to early team members in this particular role.

  • Base Salary: $80,000 to $100,000
  • OTE: $160,000 to $200,000
  • Equity: Standard 4-year vesting schedule with 1-year cliff
