Customer Marketing & Advocacy Manager
Expel
At Expel, customers are our reason for being. We’re looking for a customer marketer who’s equal parts relationship-builder, problem-solver, and logistics pro—someone who loves matching the right story to the right opportunity, keeping programs moving, and finding ways to scale what works.
In this role, you’ll run Expel’s customer reference and review programs, support key moments in the customer lifecycle with thoughtful campaigns, and bring order to the tools and data that support customer marketing across the company. You’ll partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success—and earn their trust by making their work easier, more effective, and more customer-centric.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on cross-functional collaboration, keeps tabs on all the moving parts, and gets satisfaction from turning complexity into momentum. If you're motivated by making connections, using data to make decisions, crafting stand-out customer experiences, and making programs run better—we’d love to talk!
What Expel can do for you
- Give you ownership of significant programs that celebrate customers and their achievements
- Offer a collaborative, fast paced environment where good ideas rise quickly because we genuinely care about great work
- Surround you with teams (Sales, CS, Marketing) who value what customer advocacy can unlock — and rely on your expertise
- Provide space to bring structure, scale, and momentum to programs that are ready for the next stage of growth
- Invite you into conversations that will challenge your thinking and encourage your creativity
- Give you an opportunity to work for a fast growing security company rated as the leading MDR provider by Forrester in 2025
What you can do for Expel
- Run our customer reference and third party review programs — and make them feel effortless to Sales and customers alike
- Match the right advocates to the right sales and marketing opportunities, and build the systems that make that scalable
- Launch and optimize promotional campaigns for webinars, customer comms, and reviews
- Keep our advocacy tools clean, useful, and actionable — with data hygiene, tagging, and permissions on point
- Track performance, identify what’s working, and bring smart ideas for making it even better
- Manage recognition and gifting programs that celebrate customer achievements and deepen loyalty
- Be a go-to partner across the business for making marketing more customer-centric
What you should bring with you
- A “get it done” mentality — you’re organized, proactive, and thrive in a fast paced, cross-functional environment
- Experience balancing logistics, relationships, and data — and a strong instinct for when to make a decision vs. ask a question
- Comfort with ambiguity — you can manage cross-functional projects without waiting for step-by-step instructions
- Strong communication skills — clear, warm, and effective across teams and tools
- Proficiency with tools like Salesforce, Marketo, and experience running customer advocacy platforms like Base, SlapFive or Orca.
- 2–4 years of experience in customer marketing and advocacy in the cybersecurity industry
- A passion for helping customers shine — and a belief that advocacy should be as valuable for them as it is for us
