Position Description

General Atlantic is looking to hire an Associate to join the Capital Markets team. This role will support capital markets activities for portfolio companies and new investments, contribute to the evaluation and execution of debt and equity financing transactions, and assist in managing GA’s banking and lender relationships. The position is ideal for individuals with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for global credit markets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop capital structure recommendations by analyzing financials of existing and prospective portfolio companies
  • Assist in managing the financing diligence process in partnership with investment teams
  • Support execution of debt financing transactions, including preparation and negotiation of debt commitment papers and credit agreements
  • Conduct outreach and evaluate prospective lenders and capital providers
  • Help portfolio companies prepare for public market access (e.g., IPO, SPAC) and monitor ongoing liquidity strategies
  • Provide regular market intelligence and analysis for internal committees and portfolio leadership
  • Track GA’s global banking and lender relationships to maintain visibility and strengthen institutional partnerships
  • Assist with hedging, FX strategy, and other treasury-related matters for portfolio companies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top academic institution
  • 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, debt capital markets, leveraged finance or private credit
  • Exposure to credit transactions or leveraged lending preferred
  • Strong interest in global capital markets, including equity, debt, and FX instruments
  • Excellent Microsoft office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Self-starter with excellent work ethic and a high degree of professional maturity
  • Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and dynamic environment

General Atlantic offers a robust reward program to all employees that will support you and your family, maintaining fulfilling, secure and healthy lives now and into the future, which includes but is not limited to medical insurance, retirement savings contributions, mental and physical health resources and an equal pay program that allows you to earn a base salary of $140,000-$170,000, of which the exact amount offered will be driven by the degree to which you meet role requirements, additional special skills and experience. Additional reward programs, such as annual discretionary bonuses and long-term incentive programs, are available for eligible employees and are offered as recognition for performance and one’s contributions towards the organization’s success.
