The Performance Management team in HCM designs, implements and advises on strategic frameworks to drive and assess the performance of our people and managers at Goldman Sachs.
As a Performance Management team, we:
- Design and implement frameworks to consistently identify and assess talent and inform people decisions
- Develop innovative processes, insights and platform solutions to help inform talent decisions, create operational efficiency and provide a seamless end user experience
- Ensure regulatory compliance for all talent management practices and frameworks
- Create a positive experience for our people through intuitive systems, policies and processes
- Collaborate with HCM and the firm
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
- Collaborate closely with global colleagues to design, implement and support the following Performance Processes:
- Three Conversations at GS
- Goal Setting
- Mid-Year Check-In
- Year End Feedback and Performance Ratings
- Promotions (across all titles)
- Manager effectiveness assessment
Key roles and responsibilities (applicable to all talent processes listed above) would include:
- Project planning for executing on the global performance management initiatives and processes. Includes:
- Defining the high level stages, milestones and timelines required to launch and execute a global program or process
- Defining the communication strategy for all phases of the process
- Create a business/stakeholder management plan
- Plan for system uplifts, configuration and testing required for the processes
2. Cross regional and divisional advisory for various business and HCM stakeholders to implement and drive performance management initiatives. Includes:
- Partnering closely with SMEs in product, engineering and reporting to align on the execution across multiple processes / projects
- Communicating closely with the business stakeholders across regions on both BAU processes as well as strategic projects
- Working closely with stakeholders including engineering and product providing real time coverage to trouble shoot system issues as well as work on developing solutions to meet business requirements
3. Implement the performance management technology strategy including strategic uplifts and transformations critical to the firm
- Document feedback and improvement opportunities
- Work with engineering and product teams to identify, prioritize and implement necessary technology uplifts, fixes and enhancements to elevate processes for future cycles
- Prioritize platform improvements based on feedback
4. Collaborating with firm’s control functions to ensure regulatory compliance across all frameworks and practices
- Prepare for audits, help gather necessary documents
- Validating processes and frameworks with both internal and external advisors
5. Support cross functional change management for the evolving talent processes design, policy and technology platforms. Includes:
- Collaborate with functional and PMO teams to drive change management across various talent initiatives
- Plan business engagement and sponsorship strategy for key initiatives
- Design learning resources and guides to help create awareness & share best practices for the performance management processes (people and managers)
6. Execute the overall process, system and reporting, including analysis of key performance metrics, in order to help monitor success of initiatives, optimize the approach and report on impact
- Provide support to BPs and End Users, escalating where needed
- Manage queries and requests from employees, managers and other stakeholders related to the performance management processes and systems
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor degree with minimum of 3 years of experience in a corporate environment
- Highly organized, excellent project management skills, follow-through
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Ability to analyze data and draw conclusions, proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Ability to communicate complex problems and technical / process workflows to stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive, confidential information with impeccable judgment
- Results-oriented - ability to balance multiple time-sensitive projects
- Ability to work well independently and build relationships across levels, functions and regions
- Proactive, looking for opportunities to broaden knowledge and understanding
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-4 years of experience working in performance management, business partner, talent development, data analytics and reporting or project management role
- Collaborate with product and engineering SMEs to asses talent platform/s performance, identify opportunities for improvement, define and prioritize product requirements, features, and enhancements
- Experience working with HCM tech platforms, system testing (UAT), gathering stakeholder feedback, analyzing themes to inform future enhancements
- Knowledge of change management best practices
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Knowledge of financial services industry
- Moderate to advanced Excel skills (e.g. vlookups, pivot tables, data cleansing and reconciliations)
Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $85000-$140000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
