Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in internal communications with an emphasis on program management or experience developing and executing communication strategies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in Strategy and Operations, Program Management, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Consulting, or similar investigative roles.
  • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in cross-functional leadership and change management that drives performance/execution excellence.
  • Experience in Content Strategy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

As an Internal Engagement Program Manager within our Core Privacy, Safety and Security organization, you will be instrumental in developing and executing impactful communication programs that inform, inspire, and engage our Privacy, Safety and Security (PSS) teams. You will have the exciting opportunity to work alongside talented and passionate individuals across Alphabet, enhancing understanding and fostering strong engagement around our critical privacy, safety, and security initiatives. This role involves significant cross-functional collaboration with teams in Engineering, Product, Marketing, Legal, and other departments to create and deliver communication strategies that underscore our commitment to user trust and responsible innovation. You will focus on crafting clear, compelling stories that resonate with audiences, cultivating open dialogue, and building strong relationships with internal partners. Your contributions will help promote transparency and accountability, ensuring our communication efforts reflect our dedication to user respect and ethical practices.The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$258,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a comprehensive internal communications strategy for the organization, encompassing all channels, leadership messages, and key initiatives to foster engagement and alignment.
  • Drive strategic communications and change management programs across the Privacy, Safety and Security organization, crafting and disseminating impactful messages for organizational shifts, major programs, and cultural initiatives while ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Establish and maintain communication standards and a robust program governance structure, including executive communications, regular reviews, prioritization, and effective resource stewardship for high-impact decision-making.
  • Cultivate alliances with cross-organizational and cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring alignment on priorities and collaborative development of communication and program initiatives.
  • Measure the effectiveness of all internal communication programs through established metrics and feedback, continuously improving reach, impact, and overall organizational efficiency.
