About the job
Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.
With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
The iOS Google Search App Platform Team is responsible for supporting the core app level infrastructure used by engineers and partners to build features in Search. We have wide latitude to propose changes, own pieces of the app infrastructure, and drive adoption of new tooling, Application Programming Interfaces, and systems. We focus on improving User Trust through features such as Incognito and Autofill. You will have an opportunity to work on platform level integrations to support the entire iOS Google App for compliance purposes.
Responsibilities
- Lead more junior members of the broader iOS Google App team and our partners on design and best practices.
- Work cross-functionally with Product and User Experience to both prototype and build new features.
- Run live experiments to collect metrics, evaluate results, and iterate to refine the product experience.
- Collaborate with our partners in the broader Identity organization to integrate their new libraries and oversee the implementation within iOS Google App suggesting improvements to the Application Programming Interface designs where necessary.
- Maintain high-quality code structure and architecture with a focus on modularity, testability, and stability. Support internal feature developers across search by participating in design reviews and providing guidance on the iOS Google App platform.
