About the job

Global Industry Relations is the team responsible for managing strategic engagement with the advertising trade ecosystem to shape balanced business, policy and reputational outcomes for Google. We surface key industry trends and insights to inform Google’s strategic decision making. This work protects Google’s right to operate by mitigating external risks, increasing trust in our advertising products and influencing conversations that impact our business.

Our team leverages a networked knowledge base and a unique ability to drive advocacy, build relationships, and activate initiatives that benefit both the industry and Google. We operate globally, across the entire advertising ecosystem, gaining invaluable, non-replicable insights from relationship-based interactions. This established strength offers significant potential for further growth and enhancement.

As a Strategic Insights Manager, you will act as the intelligence engine for Google’s Global Industry Relations (IR) team. In this role, you will shape how Google understands and engages with the global advertising industry ecosystem. You will move beyond simple reporting to deliver consultancy-quality insights that anticipate risks, identify opportunities, and inform decision-making for Google’s senior leadership in GBO and beyond. You will leverage AI-driven tools to modernize how we collect intelligence, blending qualitative signals with quantitative data to create a scalable, strategic advantage that protects Google’s right to operate.

Global marketing done right is becoming more challenging due to fast-changing consumer expectations, changes in individual market landscapes, and the rate of technological change. At its core, Global Clients and Agency Solutions (GCAS) helps leading brands, trade bodies and marketing partners navigate this complexity so that they can continue to be the market makers who positively shape our industry. Everyday, we help our partners fully utilize Google’s products, talent and insights to advance their marketing performance and the advertising ecosystem at large. Whether through building stronger tech and media foundations, surfacing cutting edge insights or structuring industry dialogue, GCAS helps shape what’s next into now.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of insights reporting. Translate complex, disparate intelligence into clear and high-impact narratives that enable Google Executives to make informed decisions.
  • Analyze both hard data (industry metrics, survey results) and soft intelligence (relationship-based signals, sentiment) to produce a holistic view of the advertising ecosystem. Build and maintain the Global IR central database, serving as the single source of truth for cross-functional teams accessing IR intelligence.
  • Monitor and surface key developments in the advertising industry that impact Google’s product and policy roadmaps. Identify opportunities and risks to inform annual planning and strategy.
  • Own Annual Industry Sentiment Survey. Design and execute framework to track industry bodies' sentiment toward Google and their prioritization of key issues.
  • Develop and implement new processes—leveraging AI tools—to collect, synthesize, and scale systemic intelligence from Regional Leads and cross-functional partners.
