Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, with a focus on Go for developer tools.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products or SDKs/Cloud APIs.
- 1 year of experience with software design and architecture, specifically regarding build infrastructure, test frameworks, or release engineering systems.
- Experience managing the life-cycle of developer-facing tools or platforms.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms, applied to optimizing large-scale code generation and build systems.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership (TL) role, guiding engineering teams through project migrations and release cycles.
- Experience developing accessible technologies and ensuring SDKs follow design and documentation standards.
- Experience with the various language ecosystems supported by the SDK (Java, Python, Node.js, Rust, C++, C#, Ruby, or PHP).

Responsibilities
- Write and test product or system development code specifically for Librarian, the Go-based core tooling used to automate the generation and release of Cloud SDK client libraries.
- Drive technical design reviews with internal stakeholders (OnePlatform, API producers) and peer engineers to evaluate and select build and release technologies for the next-generation of Cloud SDKs.
- Review code and provide technical feedback to ensure best practices across SDK languages, focusing on library idiomaticity, style guidelines, accuracy, testability, and release efficiency.
- Contribute to technical documentation and educational content for internal Google Cloud Platform (GCP) partners such as Ads, Geo, YouTube adapting content based on product updates and feedback from the developer community.
- Triage and debug system issues within the SDK build and release pipeline, analyzing impact on service operations to ensure the SDK meets GCP business and regulatory requirements (e.g., MOSS).
