Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.
  • 2 years of experience leading design projects.
  • Deep knowledge of interaction design, visual design and information architecture.
  • Ability to communicate and prototype interactions at various levels of fidelity, including proficiency in leveraging nascent AI technology to vibe code, rapidly translating design intent into functional front-end components and high-fidelity interactive sandboxes.

You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.

As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

The Communication Ads (CAT) team helps users around the world connect with businesses seamlessly on Search. We are redefining how users get in touch with advertisers, whether by calling, sending a message, or submitting a lead form. Through bold, continuous experimentation, we help define the future of Search by expanding the boundaries of what users and advertisers can accomplish with Google Ads.

We are a user-centric team of designers, researchers and storytellers. We manage problems together but own them individually, working closely with our Product, Engineering, and Research partners. We believe in a collaborative working style with a bias towards rapid exploration and experimentation, guided by a strong curiosity for our customers and their needs.

Google Ads is helping power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. We’re made up of multiple teams, building Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Map complex user journeys for Communication Ads experiences, specifically focusing on conversational and agentic lead-generation flows.
  • Design and create high-quality proposals throughout the design process, including wireframes and high-fidelity mocks that illustrate key UIs.
  • Execute meticulously on typography, color, composition, and interaction to create engaging product designs.
  • Collaborate across the wider UX organization to define frameworks and UI components that create consistency and scale across all Ads surfaces.
  • Work closely with Engineering and PM partners to ensure design components and UX patterns are well-documented and implemented accurately.
