Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in management consulting, sales operations, business strategy, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or corporate advisory experience, or 8 years of experience with an advanced degree.
- 5 years of experience working with executive stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in management consulting firm or equivalent project management experience in a strategy function for software, Internet, media industries or early stage companies; with a MBA degree.
- Experience in leading teams.
- Experience in Professional Services, Service Operations, Customer Support Operations or Online Media.
- Experience in structuring and executing complex analyses to support strategy in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
- Demonstrated leadership in crisis and change management situations or experience in a global organization, collaborating with global stakeholders.
- Proven leader with excellent thought leadership, project management, problem solving/analysis, written/verbal communication skills.
About the job
The gTech Strategy and Operations organization (more simply gSO) provides strategic business insights to gTech and partner teams, ensures cross-functional alignment of goals and execution, and helps gTech leadership identify and drive strategic programs and new initiatives forward. We stay focused on aligning the highest-level company/GBO/gTech priorities with effective day-to-day operations and help evolve early stage ideas into future-growth initiatives.
The Head of Strategy and Operations, gTech Ads AMER will be responsible for driving high-impact strategic and operational initiatives that accelerate the gTech Ads goal in AMER, partnering closely with the gTech Ads Leadership Team in AMER, and broader gTech Ads MG. In addition to transformative projects, this also includes driving alignment of goals and execution across the business, and across key stakeholder organizations (LCS, GTM, broader gTech). This role offers the opportunity to drive outsized impact both in shaping gTech Ads' goal and in enabling data-driven, value-based decision making for our sales partners and broader GTM.
The Go-to-Market Operations (GtM) team ensures Google's complex and ever-evolving Ads business runs smoothly. We are instrumental in setting go-to-market strategy, and ensuring flawless execution and operations against the strategy. We have teams embedded in each of the major Ads business areas as well as global teams that work across the business areas. Team members are analytical and strategic, with a pragmatic sense of how to get things done.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $234,000-$326,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Be a strategic partner to the VP of gTech Ads in AMER, driving strategic/operational/organizational projects in line with gTech Ads' business priorities, and collaborating with both gTech Ads MG and cross-functional partners in AMER (e.g., GTM, Sales leadership).
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders and leaders to gather relevant data and conduct business analysis with effective project communication and management.
- Identify and structure specific analyses to address complex, ambiguous and potentially controversial business questions for gTech Ads.
- Deliver strategic insights and recommendations based on business analyses to leadership.
- Manage a team by coaching and mentoring team members, provide oversight and connectivity to business-focused standalone initiatives, and remove roadblocks to execution/eliminating conflicts.
