Revel is searching for a skilled collision/auto body technician to join our team. Your primary job in this role will be to perform bodywork on our fleet of rideshare EV’s. Our technicians work as part of a team. It’s important that you’re able to work well with others and capable of demonstrating professionalism in the workplace. While under supervision of the Service Manager, the technician must be able to work independently and efficiently in order to meet deadlines. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, enjoy problem-solving and possess a basic understanding of automotive repair.

Main responsibility of the technician will involve repairing, replacing a variety of automotive parts, refinishing vehicles and preparing them to be painted. This may include but is not limited to sanding, priming and taping cars to ensure that the body of the vehicle is ready to take on paint.

Frame/heavy collision experience is not necessary but must be able to install, align, and adjust new panels such as fenders, hoods, doors, and tailgates. We would appreciate some experience working in a busy shop environment with modern tools and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Disassemble and assemble vehicles for repair
  • Repair and replace a variety of vehicle parts
  • Perform diagnostic tests to ensure that all issues have been detected and resolved
  • Follow all workplace safety requirements
  • Prepare cars to be painted by welding, sanding, filing, grinding and refinishing
  • Ensure all needed repairs identified to eliminate supplements and minimize repair time
  • Plan work procedure: follow work order for all operations listed
  • Mend damaged body by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts; ensure all gaps and fits are to industry standards; remove damaged fenders, panels and grills; and bolts or welds replacement parts in position and reassemble after parts are painted
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools (e.g. welder, soldering equipment, cutting torch, blocks, hammers, wrenches, sander, spray guns, etc.)
  • Repair or replace defective parts
  • Ensure all needed repairs identified to eliminate supplements and minimize repair time
  • Inspect and test drive repaired vehicles to check for compliance with safety and quality standards; Wash and prepare vehicles return
  • Comply with all safety rules, guidelines and standards
  • Perform other related duties as assigned relating to, but not limited to washing cars, cleaning the shop, etc.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an auto body technician is required, 3-5 years preferred
  • Ability to utilize a wide variety of vehicle maintenance and repair tools
  • Basic technological and mathematical proficiency
  • Ability to follow all workplace safety requirements
  • You are at least 18 years of age
  • You have the ability to effectively communicate with others
  • You are able ability to read and understand instructions, written estimates and work orders
  • You are able to multi-task and adapt easily to a fast-paced environment
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds

Additional Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with EV’s (Tesla, Kia, Toyota)
  • Bonus if you are capable of heavy collision/frame work as well as electrical work, diagnostic work, suspension work, and general mechanical
