📜 Founding Story
Our mission is deeply personal for us. Ben Cohen, CTO and Co-Founder grew up helping his father — a general contractor — to apply for hundreds of construction permits. Ben’s experiences navigating clunky government websites inspired him to build better solutions for the millions of tradespeople whose livelihoods depend on getting permits fast. Prior to founding GovWell, Ben worked for Uber and Amazon as a Software Engineer, and earned his AB in Computer Science summa cum laude from Princeton.
Troy LeCaire, CEO and Co-Founder, was previously the first employee and Chief of Staff to the CEO at RippleMatch, a NYC-based software startup, helping it grow from $0 to $10M in annual revenue and a $200M valuation over 5 years. Before RippleMatch, he worked for two U.S. senators from his home state of Wisconsin. Troy earned his BA in Government magna cum laude from Cornell and attended graduate school in Political Philosophy at NYU before dropping out to start GovWell.
🌟 Role Overview
GovWell is hiring our first recruiting/talent hire to help scale our NYC-based team from 30 to 100+ in the next 2 years. This role reports directly to CEO and Co-Founder Troy LeCaire. WATCH: Role Overview with Troy LeCaire
💻 What you’ll do
Own sourcing. Generate a consistent flow of quality candidates for open roles through any means necessary, including personal outreach, managing recruiting agencies, hiring contract sourcers, job postings, and social media.
Own selection. Own and autonomously iterate on processes for candidate selection, including resume review, interviews, and onsites.
Own recruiting operations. Manage the end-to-end candidate experience, ensuring smooth scheduling of interviews, seamless communication with candidates, and a positive experience for candidates from initial outreach to onsite interviews.
Own talent brand. Ensure GovWell’s brand has a consistent narrative and visible presence to candidates, including through our online presence, including the website, job sites, and social media.

💸 Compensation and benefits
Compensation within the posted salary band will be commensurate with experience. All offers will include:
Competitive base salary + additional incentives for performance.
Equity / stock options
Up to 100% of premiums paid by GovWell for medical, dental, and vision insurance for yourself + partner
Unlimited / flexible PTO
Compensation Range: $100K - $150K
