About the Team:
Grindr is looking for a Financial Operations (FinOps) Manager to help evolve our Finance organization to meet the demands of a public company while maintaining the speed and bias toward action of a startup. This role sits with Finance and reports directly to the CFO, partnering closely with Accounting, Business Operations, Engineering, and Product. You’ll act as an execution partner to senior finance leadership, driving transformation initiatives that improve how financial operations, systems, and processes scale across the business. The impact of this role is highly visible, shaping how Finance supports Grindr’s broader roadmap with clarity, rigor, and speed.
This is a hybrid role based in our New York City office and will require you to be in person Tuesdays and Thursdays.
About the Job:
Serve as a primary execution partner to the CFO, driving finance transformation initiatives, operating efficiency efforts, and special projects.
Lead complex, cross-functional financial operations initiatives across procurement, accounts payable, software capitalization, and related finance-adjacent processes
Translate ambiguous high-level priorities into structured workstreams with clear scope, milestones, ownership, and success criteria.
Support the evaluation, implementation, and improvement of finance systems and workflows, ensuring solutions are scalable, auditable, and well-documented.
Drive alignment and transform strategic priorities into scalable processes, tools, and structures across Finance, Accounting, Business Operations, Engineering, and Product through strong judgment, influence, and clear communication.
Role Requirements:
6+ years of experience in Finance Operations, Business Operations, FP&A, or a combination of management consulting and in-house finance roles.
Experience operating in or supporting a public-company accounting environment (e.g., SOX considerations, audit readiness).
Demonstrated ability to structure ambiguous problems and independently drive execution from concept through implementation.
Hands-on, doer-first mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Experience implementing or materially improving operational systems or financial workflows.
Experience partnering closely with Accounting, Engineering, or Product teams on systems or process initiatives, preferred.
Familiarity with finance or accounting systems and operational tooling, preferred (specific platforms not required).
You May Thrive in this Role if You:
Enjoy operating in fast-moving, under-defined environments that require both speed and rigor.
Are comfortable leading through influence rather than formal authority.
Like getting deep into the work to solve real operational problems, not just managing from a distance.
Take pride in building processes and systems that are clear, durable, and trusted by cross-functional partners.
