We are looking for an associate to join our Strategic Transactions and Licensing group (“Tech Group”) in New York. The Tech Group collaborates with leading venture-backed startups and venture capital firms in technology, life sciences, AI, financial services, and consumer products. Associates will develop expertise throughout the entire lifecycle of a company, handle multiple matters concurrently, and have client contact from Day 1. As a Tech Group associate, you will:

• Draft and negotiate licensing, partnering, and commercial agreements
• Provide general intellectual property, privacy, and business/product counseling directly to clients
• Work on and manage transactions in all stages of our clients’ businesses, from formation to financings to both buy and sell-side acquisitions and beyond.

We will consider strong candidates with significant experience in either (1) strategic and/or commercial contracts drafting and negotiation and/or (2) deal management of intellectual property components of venture financing and/or M&A transactions, who are looking to expand their practice to include more holistic company counseling.

Job Requirements:

• Eagerness to work with startup and venture capital clients
• Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following: commercial contracts drafting and negotiation and/or intellectual property components of venture financing or M&A transactions
• JD 2022-2023
• A technical degree is not required but enthusiasm for, and a willingness to learn about, emerging technology is a must
• Admission to the State Bar of New York
• Superior academic credentials from a top law school and excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Previous large law firm experience required

Salary Range:

• $260,000 - $310,000
