Introduction
BM Quantum is an industry first initiative to build universal quantum computers for business, engineering and science. This effort includes advancing the entire quantum computing technology stack and exploring applications to make quantum broadly usable and accessible. With a worldwide network of Fortune 500 companies, academic institutions, researchers, educators, and enthusiasts, we are committed to driving innovation for our clients in the IBM Quantum Network and the Qiskit Community

Your Role and Responsibilities
– The successful candidate will be responsible for exploring and developing new colloidal systems for applications such as chemical mechanical planarization (CMP), and templating to create novel nanostructures.
– Working in a dynamic research and development environment, the research scientist will be expected to employ an interdisciplinary approach that incorporates elements of materials science, surface science and electrochemistry.
– The candidate will have an opportunity to develop new processes for advanced CMOS and interconnect fabrication for future device technology nodes (2 nm and beyond) through internal and external partnership projects.
– The research scientist will have an opportunity to participate in the fabrication of novel device structures such as AI and Quantum devices, phase change memories and magnetic random-access memory (MRAM) by collaborating with wafer lot initiators and experts in lithography, plasma processes, electrodeposition and other advanced semiconductor

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • A PhD degree in Chemistry/Physical Chemistry
  • Experience in electrochemical processes and/or colloid and surface science
  • Experience in Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP)
  • Experience in employing interdisciplinary approach that incorporates elements of materials science, surface science and electrochemistry

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 1 year experience in Project management
  • Experience in planning and executing semiconductor research projects
  • Experience in managing resources to meet deadlines
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment where contamination control is critical
  • Experience in lead role, working in teams and collaborate with other teams
  • Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes, such as photolithography and thin-film deposition.
