Introduction

The 'IBM' includes thousands of partners who 'Build' on, 'Sell' or 'Service' IBM technologies and platforms. As an Ecosystem Manager, your mission is to lead and manage an internal IBM Ecosystem sales team(s) who support external Partners in your country or market.

You'll work with IBM Technology Leaders and other Sales managers to align the Ecosystem division's execution with the broader corporate strategy. You're responsible for the overall sales performance of your Ecosystem team, resource deployment, and execution of territory plans which deliver growth for the country, market, and the team(s) you oversee.

Excellent onboarding and an industry leading learning culture will set you up for positive impact and success, whilst ongoing development will advance your career through an upward trajectory. Our sales environment is collaborative and experiential. Part of a team, you'll be surrounded by bright minds and keen co-creators – always willing to help and be helped – as you apply passion to work that will compel your partners to lead with IBM offerings when recommending solutions to their clients.

Your role and responsibilities

GMSR Compliance and Operations:

  • Represent IBM on regular interlocks with both GMSRs to review operational challenges and issues raised by either party. Drive actions through to resolution internally / driving changes in GMSR behaviour and activities. Lead interlocks with Legal, Finance, TCO and other parties as required to perform root cause analysis, identify potential resolutions and drive implementation of solutions.
  • Management of the Operations Guide. This is the key document which describes how the parties interact on an operational level. Own the process for managing updates to the guide, as well as leading the execution of updates (involving key internal SMEs as required) and driving agreement to changes with GMSRs
Internal process review. Drive review and update of bespoke processes designed to support the execution of the GMSR contract and Operations Guide. Utilise knowledge of internal business processes, acceptable risks and contract/Ops guide knowledge to drive most effective and efficient process design and implementation
  • Ad-Hoc project management to drive changes to the relationship or process execution. Examples include changing the basis for HW bonus letter, SBM extended payment terms and changing bespoke GMSR pricing approach. Cross functional knowledge and experience enables proactive suggesting and risk assessment of changes, rather than pure execution of leadership requests
  • GMSR Management System review – interlocking with all stakeholders to review and update end-to-end management system as required to support contract, operations guide and address emerging risks/issues. Key activity for 2025 is development of cross-functional scorecard for execution monitoring
