A part of IBM Research, the Granite Technical Product Management team is responsible for releasing IBM's Granite family of LLMs for use by the open source developer community, IBM's software development teams, IBM Consulting, and other internal stakeholders.
We are looking for a Technical Product Manager to support the development and release of the Granite family of LLMs. Key responsibilities include:
- Support LLM Roadmap Execution – Assist in managing and executing the strategic roadmap for the Granite model series, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical feasibility.
- Coordinate Model Development Efforts – Work closely with research, engineering, and software to push model development forward—tracking progress, managing risks, and hitting key milestones.
- Contribute to Model & Data Governance Strategy – Play a role in defining guidelines around compliance, transparency, and ethical AI to ensure responsible model and data management.
- Manage Cross-functional Collaboration – Serve as a liaison between AI researchers, product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on priorities.
- Support Project Management & Execution – Support roadmap planning, framework development and execution, while driving Granite adoption and ensuring teams are working together effectively.
- Develop Product & Technical Documentation – Maintain up-to-date documentation on model development, governance policies, project plans, Objectives and Key Results (OKR) tracking, and Granite adoption outcomes.
- 1–3 years of experience in AI/ML product management, technical program management, or a related field, with exposure to the development lifecycle of LLMs.
- Familiarity of the field of GenAI and the LLMs development process
- Ability to manage multiple projects, track deliverables, and coordinate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, technical environment.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences, including engineers, researchers, and business leaders.
- Ability to drive alignment and execution across cross-functional teams without direct authority. Skilled in building trust, advocating for priorities, and translating complex technical concepts into compelling narratives for diverse stakeholders.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, anticipating challenges, and fostering collaboration across research, engineering, and product teams.
- MBA
