- Server Administration: Manage, configure, and maintain Linux servers, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux and SuSE. This includes installing, updating, and troubleshooting server software and hardware.
- System Security: Maintain robust security measures to protect our systems from unauthorized access and data breaches. This includes user account management, firewall configuration, intrusion detection systems, and system hardening.
- System Monitoring: Monitor systems for security, availability, and performance using tools such as Splunk, Nagios, Tenable Security Center.
- Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain scripts for automating routine tasks, backup procedures, and system updates. Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef is highly desirable.
- Performance Monitoring and Tuning: Monitor system performance, diagnose bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize speed and efficiency.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with semiconductor design and manufacturing teams to understand their unique needs and translate them into effective system configurations. Provide timely updates on status and resolutions to system issues.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of all systems, procedures, and configurations.
- Threat Mitigation: Stay abreast of emerging cyber threats and vulnerabilities and implement appropriate countermeasures. This includes setting up and managing security tools such as antivirus software, SIEM systems, and vulnerability scanners.
- Compliance: Ensure all systems comply with pertinent laws, regulations, and internal policies regarding data protection and privacy, as well as industry-specific standards relevant to semiconductor design and manufacturing.
- Semiconductor Industry Insights: Apply knowledge of semiconductor design and manufacturing processes to advise on system designs and configurations that align with industry best practices and standards.
- Experience in Linux Systems Administration
- Proficiency in Shell scripting, Bash, Perl, Python, or similar scripting languages.
- Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and services (SSH, HTTP, SMTP).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM).
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, including secure coding practices, threat modeling, and incident response.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance from the US federal government.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Nagios, and Tenable Security Center is a plus.
- Familiarity with semiconductor design and manufacturing is a plus.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) is a plus.
