Job Description

Join us in shaping the future of data management at JPMorganChase through our Chief Data Office (CDO) Internship Program. This 10-week program offers aspiring data and analytics professionals the chance to immerse themselves in the critical areas of Data Governance, Data Privacy, and Data Strategy. Interns will work alongside a team of passionate and growth-oriented professionals, gaining hands-on experience and insights into how data is managed, protected, and utilized to drive business success. This program is designed to equip interns with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in data management roles.

As a Chief Data Office Intern, you'll be part of a firmwide function that plays a critical role in shaping the data landscape across the entire organization. You'll gain exposure to a variety of teams and functions, working on projects that have a broad impact on our business operations and strategic initiatives. Throughout your internship, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with seasoned professionals from different areas, gaining insights into how data is leveraged to drive decision-making and innovation across the firm.

Interns receive mentorship and training throughout the program, to support professional skills development. Successful interns may receive offers of full-time employment based on individual achievements and contributions.

Key Areas of Focus

  1. Data Governance:
    • Assist in the development and enforcement of data governance policies and standards.
    • Support data quality initiatives by identifying and resolving data issues.
    • Participate in data stewardship activities to maintain data accuracy and compliance.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data governance practices are integrated into business processes.
  2. Data Privacy:
    • Gain an understanding of data privacy regulations and their implications for the organization.
    • Assist in conducting data privacy assessments and audits to ensure compliance.
    • Help maintain and update privacy documentation and records.
  3. Strategy and Execution:
    • Contribute to the development of data strategies that align with organizational goals.
    • Participate in projects aimed at enhancing data-driven business processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Chief Data Office team to support data governance, privacy, and strategy initiatives.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support data-driven projects and decision-making.
  • Assist in the documentation and communication of data governance policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Participate in data quality management efforts, including data profiling and cleansing activities.
  • Support the creation of data governance metrics and reports for stakeholders.
  • Engage in meetings and workshops to gain exposure to data management challenges and solutions.
  • Assist in project management tasks, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating data-related projects.
  • Track project progress and help ensure timely completion of project milestones.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Expected graduation of December 2026 through June 2027
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic understanding of data management principles and practices.
  • Interest in data governance, data quality, data privacy, and project management.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Motivated, resourceful spirit with fresh ideas and an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python) is a plus.
