As the Senior Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking, Digital Channels team, you will lead a technical area and promote significant impact across teams, technologies, and projects within various departments. You will leverage your extensive expertise in software, applications, technical processes, and product management to oversee and propel multiple complex projects and initiatives. In this role, you will serve as the primary decision maker for your teams, fostering innovation and ensuring the successful delivery of solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives.
- Advises and leads on the strategy and development of multiple products, applications, and technologies across a portfolio of Mobile applications.
- Owns the platformization efforts, ensuring consistency and scalability across mobile platforms.
- Manages and develops a team of technologists, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Actively engages in hands-on coding, setting a technical example for the team, particularly in the iOS or Android mobile space.
- Makes decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures.
- Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations.
- Makes decisions around architectural guard rails to ensure robust and scalable solutions.
- Translates highly complex technical issues, trends, and approaches to leadership to drive the firm’s innovation and enable leaders to make strategic, well-informed decisions about technology advancements.
- Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ year of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise and more broadly across the organization.
- Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability for commercially used digital platforms.
- Expert in either iOS or Android mobile space, with a strong emphasis on hands-on coding experience.
- Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists.
- Demonstrated prior experience with influencing across functions and teams and delivering value at scale.
- Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
- Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex technology problems across various technical disciplines.

Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience working at code level.
- Experience building pipeline and release mechanisms for mobile platforms.
