Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Independently meet with institutional investment clients to discuss industry trends, and proactively educate clients on specific companies within the coverage universe. Coordinate and delegate team resources to address client requests, directing specific team members to handle different portions of industry- and company-specific data research, and independently provide proactive insights on sector developments and ad-hoc inquiries directly to clients. Independently conduct industry market research through periodic channel checks by representing the company at site visits, expositions, and conventions nationwide. Drive completion of financial forecasting and publishing of research reports, including independent publications as a lead analyst for subset of companies in the team's coverage universe. Independently maintain financial models, release company-specific and industry research ahead of earnings, and track corporate announcements. Initiate research on companies outside JPMorgan's coverage, write thematic industry reports, learn new business models, develop relationships with management teams, visit company locations, and create financial forecasts and deep-dive reports for clients. Enhance the team's data resources using advanced coding, lead data-driven research initiatives, improve data capabilities by finding efficient ways to track industry metrics, and leverage automation for better data initiative efficiency. Maintain and update JPMorgan's proprietary industry models, capturing key industry themes and projecting future implications. Mentor and guide off-shore junior analysts, and coordinate publication of monthly research reports. This position requires up to 20% domestic and international travel to attend conferences and events and to visit covered/client companies and institutional investors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or related field of study plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or as Equity Research, Equity Research Analyst, Corporate and Investment Banking, Research and Analytics, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires one (1) year of experience with the following skills: participating in an Initial Public Offering (IPO) process; independently ideating and creating strategic research reports focusing on actionable insights for institutional investment clients; presenting strategic insights and industry development updates to institutional investment clients; utilizing industry and supply chain knowledge to identify key trends and generate actionable insights; building a network of industry partners that provide a stable source of first-hand information on near-term trends within the industry; performing financial and valuation analysis including performing comprehensive financial models for companies and applying advanced valuation methodologies; utilizing advanced coding languages Python and R for the purpose of analysis and model maintenance; financial accounting; VBA; econometrics concepts, including regression analyses, time series analyses, panel data analyses, event study analyses, and volatility modeling; API integration; data cleaning and data pre- processing; using Microsoft Word to create detailed equity research reports with formatting, stylistic, and collaboration features; using Microsoft Excel to perform advanced financial modeling, including use of complex formulas and pivot tables, and creating and maintaining dashboards; using Microsoft PowerPoint for designing presentations and charting illustrative industry process flows and supply chain linkages; establishing and maintaining relationships with C-suite executives and senior management; facilitating strategic discussions and insights with C-suite executives and senior management; and performing stakeholder relationship management within an investment bank.
Job Location: 383 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10179. This position requires up to 20% domestic and international travel to attend conferences and events and to visit covered/client companies and institutional investors.
Full-Time. Salary: $175,000 - $200,000 per year.
