Help support the Chief Investment Officer, Finance, and Business Management teams in an exciting role, providing insights, guidance, and communication regarding their achievements and challenges.

As a Senior Associate within the Global Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities (GFICC) Finance and Business Management group, you will oversee the financial management of a diverse array of products and strategies. You will collaborate closely with the Chief Investment Officer, Finance, and Business Management teams to provide insights, guidance, and communication regarding their successes and challenges. In this key role, you will utilize your outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities to implement strategic initiatives, reduce business risks, and improve financial performance. This position demands a highly collaborative, quick-thinking, creative, critical, and solution-oriented approach. You will need to seamlessly transition between strategic planning and practical solutions, as well as between high-level concepts and detail-oriented analysis.

In this prominent role, you will utilize your outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities to execute strategic initiatives, reduce business risks, and improve financial performance. Your daily interactions will involve partnership, apprenticeship, and mentorship, all aimed at promoting the success of the business, the finance team, and its members. While your primary focus will be on finance, you will also contribute to business management initiatives, supporting the growth and strategic success of the GFICC business. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in expanding their responsibilities to cover business management functions, in addition to their core finance duties.

Job responsibilities:

  • Manage and analyze financial performance, including expenses, productivity initiatives, and implementation of cost optimization strategies.
  • Support the execution of new business strategies, strategic initiatives, and platforms, aligning with Finance, Technology, Operations, Legal, and Compliance teams.
  • Identify, escalate, and mitigate business risks (legal, tax, regulatory, capacity, transaction costs) that could impact business operations.
  • Contribute to the prioritization and delivery of strategic business initiatives for the GFICC US business.
  • Organize and present complex financial information in a strategic and compelling way, utilizing Excel and PowerPoint for senior management presentations.
  • Provide high responsiveness to ad hoc requests related to business issues.
  • Participate in collaborative initiatives with regional and global team members, continually seeking ways to simplify, improve, and add value to business practices.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in financial markets, asset management, or related areas.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Alteryx.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills; able to manage complex, fast-paced projects and meet changing requirements.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills; energetic and dynamic in style, able to connect with audiences across different levels, including senior managers.
  • Ability to forge strong internal relationships across a broad range of functions and present well to senior and global business heads.
  • Attention to detail with a logical thought process.
