Job Summary
The US Subdiary Banking team manages J.P. Morgan’s relationships with US subsidiaries of international corporate clients across their cash management, trade, derivatives, and financing needs. The team coordinates the coverage strategy with headquarter bankers and product partners across regions.
Job responsibilities
- Build and expand Treasurer / CFO relationships with German corporate banking clients in the US; Originate dialogue at both headquarters in Germany and at local levels across the US. Educate clients on JPMorgan's corporate banking capabilities for US subsidiaries of German clients
- Partner with local and headquarter corporate bankers and product partners to identify new business opportunities and collaborate on deal execution; Escalate the needs of clients with local and regional product partners to drive product development ideas
- Create forward looking business plans for clients and maintain existing business relationships
- Conduct comprehensive client analysis to identify business needs that can be met with JPMorgan's array of corporate banking products (e.g. Payments, Trade, Escrow, Derivatives, Capital markets, Credit, Risk management, Asset management, Asset Backed Securitization, Conduit Financing etc.)
- Responsible for conversion of client analysis into concrete financial solutions
- Conduct regular cross functional reviews with peers (locally and regionally) to ensure coordinated management of client relationships and business opportunities
- Ensure strong Risk & Control framework is maintained with an ongoing focus on adherence to KYC, AML, Reputation Risk, and other standards
- Guide and mentor the Analyst or Associate supporting the client portfolio to help them develop their banking knowledge, technical, product and client facing skills to become junior bankers over time
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; Fluency (speaking and writing) in English and German
- Proven ability to create, develop and maintain trusted client relationships, as evidenced by, winning new business, closing transactions, and possessing valuable professional networks, ideally with this client set
- Understanding of most of the relevant key products used: treasury services, flow derivatives, FX, commodities, , custody, fixed income and integrated reporting and financing products
- Ability to navigate across large organizations to get things done and broker information across the firm; ability to form strong partnerships and work in environments where there are multiple, overlapping stakeholders
- Able to develop viable strategies to grow the overall business with this client set, as well as take pragmatic steps to execute these strategies
- Team player and consistent high standard of personal integrity and commercial judgement
- Proven track record of covering clients in a cross cultural environment
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and interpersonal skills
- Experience living and working in Germany
- Flexibility to travel frequently across the US and the globe as needed
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred; a minimum of 7-12 years of Financial Services / Banking experience required
- Must pass Series 79, 63 and SIE FINRA exams prior to or shortly after joining
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Prior experience working with German corporate banking clients in Germany or the US is preferred
