Vice President, Sapphire Product Strategy

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join the Sapphire team as Vice President, Product Strategy.
In this highly visible role, you will focus exclusively on high-priority and special initiative projects that are critical to the evolution and success of the Sapphire portfolio. You will leverage your expertise in product strategy, cross-functional leadership, and analytical thinking to drive innovative solutions and deliver exceptional value to our customers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as the day-to-day leader for key strategic project initiatives within the Cards portfolio, ensuring project strategy is executed to maximize market impact.
- Drive end-to-end management of strategic projects, from ideation through execution, partnering closely with cross-functional teams including benefits, rewards, legal, compliance, and external partners.
- Develop and refine individual benefits, overall value propositions, marketing claims, and key reasons-to-believe (RTBs) for strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with the overall Sapphire product strategy.
- Collaborate with Commerce partners in Dining, Travel, and Shopping to define and deliver exclusive offers and experiences for strategic project workstreams.
- Conduct industry research, competitive analysis, and customer segmentation to inform the direction and prioritization of strategic projects.
- Analyze P&L dynamics, customer feedback, and behavioral data to guide decision-making and optimize project outcomes.
- Lead cross-functional working teams, fostering collaboration and accountability to deliver on ambitious project timelines and objectives.
- Prepare and present comprehensive project updates, business reviews, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and other key stakeholders.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion in all aspects of strategic project work.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in product strategy or product development, preferably within the credit card or payments industry.
- Demonstrated success managing complex, high-priority, or confidential projects in a matrixed organization.
- Exceptional relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams.
- Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of customer insights, P&L dynamics, and data-driven decision-making.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build executive-level presentations and present to executive audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Experience within the credit card or payments industry is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with analyzing P&L dynamics, customer feedback, and behavioral data to guide decision-making and optimize project outcomes.
