As an Associate on the Wholesale Credit Risk Legal Entity (WCR LE) team, you will support coverage leads in executing the team’s three core mandates: Portfolio Management, Implementation of Strategic Frameworks, and Regulatory and Audit Engagement. This role involves a broad range of responsibilities related to the Firm’s legal entities, which operate in various jurisdictions and regions.
Job responsibilities
- Conduct periodic and ad hoc credit exposure variance analyses for legal entities, preparing initial commentary and analytical results that incorporate the portfolio’s business booking strategy, current events, and real-time market trends. Present these findings to location coverage leads for review and subsequent presentation to senior management and local governing bodies.
- Lead portfolio-related governance deliverables by coordinating with regional WCR LE teams to provide and review LE-specific metrics. Key governance activities may include the JPM Affiliates Framework, the semiannual Legal Entity Credit Tiering exercise, the annual Booking Office Country Approval reaffirmation, and other related initiatives.
- Serve as the primary lead for limit management of JPM Affiliates facilities, including performing limit breach investigations, proposing affiliate limit adjustments, and overseeing exposures in collaboration with regional coverage leads as needed.
- Provide implementation of Strategic Frameworks centers on collaborating with stakeholders to develop, implement, and maintain consistent credit risk frameworks and processes for LEs.
- Conduct Regulatory and Audit Engagement mandate which involves the review and adherence to local regulatory requirements, partnering with Credit Risk and functional teams to address regulatory and audit exams and inquiries, and collaborating with central Firmwide risk teams to promote consistent and compliant practices across LEs.
- Work closely with various Risk Management and functional teams, including Credit Officers, Legal Entity Risk Managers, Finance, Policy, Counterparty Credit Risk, Risk Reporting, etc.
- Participate in projects that span across various categories.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret large datasets, identify trends, and clearly articulate key insights.
- Excellent communicator, comfortable engaging with colleagues throughout the Risk organization and other functional areas.
- Attention to detail and ability to deliver on time-sensitive deliverables in stressful situations.
- Control-oriented with excellent partnership and collaboration skills.
- Minimum 4 years experience in Credit Risk or translatable risk disciplines.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Bachelor’s degree. Advanced degrees (CFA/MBA) a plus.
