As a Senior Associate in the Risk Management - Multi-Family Underwriting team, you will leverage your credit training and previous experience with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac multifamily loans to assess the creditworthiness of clients, properties, and markets for new loan originations.
Job Responsibilities
- Author concise, thoughtful credit analyses for multifamily transactions using Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines
- Identify key risks and recommend appropriate loan structures
- Collaborate with internal and external contacts to progress new loan originations efficiently
- Analyze due diligence documents and third-party reports to assess collateral, cash flow, sponsor, and market risks
- Conduct site visits in compliance with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac standards
- Lead complex transactions, including credit facilities, portfolios, and forward deals
- Train and mentor junior Credit team members
- Contribute to platform infrastructure and process improvements through special projects
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree with a business focus
- At least three years of experience in commercial real estate, including credit or structuring experience
- Significant knowledge of commercial real estate multifamily lending
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

Experience with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac applications
- Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience leading complex multifamily transactions
- Prior mentoring or training experience within a credit team
- Familiarity with affordable and conventional multifamily underwriting guidelines
- Experience conducting site visits for multifamily properties
- Exposure to platform infrastructure or process improvement projects
- Knowledge of credit facilities, portfolios, and forward transactions
- Experience collaborating with diverse internal and external stakeholders
