JPMorgan Chase is seeking a skilled Executive Director to lead and support change initiatives within the Commercial Investment Banking Wholesale Deposits & Lending Firmwide External Reporting Controller team. In this role, you will oversee regulatory reporting process enhancements, including adapting to regulatory instruction changes, implementing Large Language Model (LLM) solutions, managing upcoming deposit projects, and improving data lineage. You’ll collaborate with leaders across Risk, Operations, Technology, and Accounting/Legal Policy, driving process improvements and ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and compliance in external reporting.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and status reports for multiple concurrent projects impacting external reporting.
- Ability to dig into the details to understand nuances and challenges for reporting; but able to oversee status reporting for executive summaries and / or coordinate scorecard updates and create artifacts to simplify complex aspects of the project with “story telling”
- Review value proposition and confirm pain points to track to measures of success
- Partner with cross-LOB and functional groups (including technology) to understand current processes, identify potential gaps and present solutions
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance external reporting efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Technology, Operations, and Business teams to gather requirements, communicate project status, and resolve issues.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- 7+ years of project management experience, preferably within financial services or a regulated industry
- Substantial experience in change management with proven success executing on multiple projects / initiatives at once
- Strong understanding of external (Regulatory / SEC) reporting requirements and frameworks
- Experience with project management best practices, including organizational skills, and time management
- Excellent verbal and written skills demonstrated through interactions with various levels of seniority
- Team player with ability to work autonomously and delivery high quality work in a challenging environment, while maintaining a positive and professional attitude
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex and sensitive issues to management in a concise and persuasive manner.
- Understanding of data and tools, such as Alteryx, Databricks, LLM, SQL or similar query language, and dashboard creation in Tableau
- Ability to assimilate in an organization and proactively form working relationships with key stakeholders across groups
