Consumer & Community Bank, Corporate Development - Competitive Intelligence Vice President

This role provides an opportunity to drive strategic insights and inform decision-making across our Consumer & Community Banking team. The Corporate Development team at JP Morgan Chase is broadly responsible for strategic partnerships, M&A, and investments across the firm's consumer lines of business – including the Consumer Bank, Business Bank, Wealth Management, Card Services, Connected Commerce, Home Lending, and Auto Lending. This work is critical to the firm's ability to execute on its core strategies and meet the needs of our customers in a rapidly changing financial services ecosystem.
As a Vice President within the Corporate Development Strategy & Operations Team, you will play a key role in working across the group and presenting findings to the leadership team. You will focus on assessing the competitive landscape, identifying market trends, and delivering actionable intelligence across the lines of businesses we cover. You will work closely with senior executives, including Chase’s senior-most executive leaders to evaluate how the financial ecosystem is changing, assess the implications to Chase, and determine what inorganic growth strategies will deliver value for Chase’s customers. You must be able to build strong relationships and create analysis under uncertain or ambiguous information.
Job responsibilities:
- Conduct ongoing competitive intelligence and market research to monitor industry trends, emerging competitors, and disruptive technologies impacting consumer banking
- Analyze competitor strategies, product launches, pricing, marketing campaigns, and customer experience to identify risks and opportunities for Chase
- Synthesize research findings into clear, actionable insights and present to Corporate Development line of business (LOB)/initiative leads, senior leaders, and key stakeholders across the organization
- Partner regularly with Corporate Development LOB/initiative leads and cross-functional teams to support strategic planning, business development, and innovation initiatives
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and presentations that track key market and competitor metrics
- Support ad hoc research requests and deep dives on specific topics, markets, or competitors as needed
- Ensure all research and analysis is conducted in accordance with firm policies, controls, and procedures
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 6+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, business development strategy, consulting, or related field
- Experience formulating business strategy, including structuring problems, completing analysis, and making recommendations
- Project management experience in a cross-functional environment
- Ability to work independently and quickly adapt to new or ambiguous situations without significant assistance
- Deep analytical skills, including understanding of common financial statements and ability to build financial models in Excel
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate to senior internal stakeholders
- Sense of urgency with disposition to execute and a demonstrated career of successful research and analysis
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Financial services/banking experience
- Experience with market research tools, databases, and competitive intelligence platforms
