General Manager, Elder Banking

We are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead our banking business focused on elder customers. This role is responsible for leading a new inflection point in growth for our family banking offering and driving business performance.
In this role, the highly strategic and analytical leader will be laser-focused on elder – and caregiver (e.g., adult child) – banking needs and drive execution of tactics that will deliver growth and evolve our end-to-end experiences for both elders and caregivers. This leader will be responsible for the Elder Banking business strategy and P&L, working in a highly collaborative environment with a broad set of stakeholders to:
- Deeply understand customer needs and habits ,and identify opportunities to help make elders’ and caregivers’ lives easier.
- Develop and achieve a multi-year financial plan and make key decisions around the profit and loss of the business.
- Follow a disciplined process for making investment decisions that takes into consideration both financial and risk criteria.
- Lead customer-first and influence across functions, including Product Development, Marketing, Field/National Sales, Ops/Customer Support, Risk, Compliance.
- Scope and evaluate product innovation.
- Evolve the field sales and servicing strategy to ensure bankers are well equipped to serve elders and their caregivers.
- Partner with the Consumer Bank Scam and Chase Trust & Security teams to protect elders from fraud and abuse.
Job responsibilities
- Creating and implementing the business strategy to drive sustained growth and profitability.
- Aligning strategic business priorities, the elder/caregiver banking experience to accelerate opportunities and drive customer satisfaction.
- Designing and delivering the product offering and end-to-end experience (in partnership with the Agile Product Organization & Design) and broader family value proposition across Chase (in partnership with other Chase LOBs), with new products, features and benefits to sustain competitive differentiation.
- Developing field execution, seasonal sales campaigns & communications plans to empower branch-based bankers (in partnership with National Sales)
- Developing marketing plans, influencing acquisitions & engagement investment and reviewing campaigns/tactics (in partnership with Marketing)
- Motivating, managing, leading and developing an exceptional team of direct reports
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 8+ years of business / product ownership, strategy or consulting experience.
- Strong business acumen and an analytical mind who can operationalize the strategy effectively
- End-to-end problem solver (defining problems, structuring and building quantitative / qualitative analysis, etc.) who can operationalize the business strategy effectively
- Outstanding communication, storytelling, and presentation skills
- Track record of leading cross-functional employees to deliver exceptional levels of success
- Team leader passionate about motivating and developing talent
- Strong collaboration skills in a highly matrixed organization environment
- Ability to influence and negotiate effectively at all levels
- Proven ability promoting a strong control environment by adhering to risk/control expectations, procedures and processes
- Bachelor’s degree
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Recognized thought leader within a related field
- Experience in financial services with a focus on digital and/or retail banking; educational or childhood development product experience
- Advanced degree preferred
