As a Senior Lead Architect at JPMorganChase within Consumer and Community Banking, you are an integral part of a team that works to develop high-quality architecture solutions for various software applications and platforms products. You drive significant business impact and help shape the target state architecture through your capabilities in multiple architecture domains.
Job responsibilities
- Represents a product family of technical governance bodies
- Reviews incoming work requests to determine appropriate architecture significance.
- Creates target state architecture documents and guiding principles using artifact standards.
- Follows domain boundaries when proposing design recommendations.
- Champions broader platform thinking in solutions vs meeting project level asks
- Partners with CCB architects to determine best solution within domains.
- Works with Application Development teams to estimate the cost of proposed solutions.
- Facilitates and coordinates the architecture definition during the early stages of the project life cycle.
- Participates in design tollgates and evaluate designs through a standard scoring process.
- Challenges designs during the concept and review phases to drive toward re-use, efficiency, security, and stability.
- Drives decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Experience in AWS or other public cloud platform, certification preferred.
- Strong business acumen in Banking technology preferred
- Possess excellent communication, leadership skills and the ability to influence others.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business leaders, application developers and systems technology experts.
- Ability to work well at a conceptual level, resolve ambiguity, and to drive concepts out into workable solutions.
- Excellent documentation skills to record concepts in a standardized manner.
- Executive presence to deliver key messages to senior leadership when needed.
- Ability to define target state architectures and develop realistic transition plans for achieving target state (multi-horizon views).
- Deep experience in at least one technical subject area (e.g. database, application development, performance tuning, etc.).
- Hands-on experience modeling with UML, object-oriented constructs, or other modeling language
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Data architecture knowledge and some exposure to data modeling principles.
- Broad exposure to a variety of applications, technologies and business functions including UI development and APIs.
- Experience with high-volume transaction processing and large databases.
- Working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts.
