As a Vice President Area Data Owner within our team, you will oversee all data created, provisioned, or consumed in key business applications. You will help define and classify critical data, ensuring it supports business objectives, advanced analytics, and AI/ML use cases. You will work closely with technology and business partners to deliver data that meets quality and safety standards, and execute processes to identify, monitor, and mitigate data risks throughout the data lifecycle.
You will serve as a subject matter expert for your business area, collaborating across teams to deliver on strategic objectives. Your leadership will help drive the development of AI-ready data products and ensure compliance with firm policies and standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Build and groom the backlog for data delivery teams, defining initiatives and epics to guide work and outcomes
- Develop data strategy to define and deliver AI-ready data products
- Create plans to develop and deliver data supporting business operations, strategic objectives, analytics, and AI/ML use cases
- Document requirements for data content and quality, coordinating with technology and business partners to deliver on these requirements
- Develop processes and procedures in the data product management lifecycle; identify, monitor, and mitigate data risks across the data lifecycle, including protection, retention, destruction, storage, use, and quality
- Partner with technology and business resources to resolve identified data issues in a timely and consistent manner
- Manage direct or matrixed staff to execute data-related tasks
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Six years of related data management and platform experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- Expertise in data technologies such as analytics, business intelligence, data analysis, machine learning, data warehousing, data management and governance, data quality
- Experience with risk and control requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Good business acumen and strategic thinking
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Understanding and practical experience in data engineering and analytics (SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, Spark), machine learning (Python, JupyterLab, LLMs), cloud technologies and their applications (AWS, Snowflake, Databricks)
- Knowledge of open data standards, data taxonomy and vocabularies, metadata management
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
