Security & Resiliency Initiative - Field Research Analyst, Vice President

JPMorganChase is seeking a Field Research Analyst within the Security & Resiliency Initiative (SRI) $10bn Strategic Investment Group. This Analyst will assist with Investment due diligence across multiple verticals, including Defense, Future Technology, Supply Chain, and Energy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead Primary Research Initiatives: Proactively identify, source, and engage with industry experts, company executives, and other key stakeholders to support investment due diligence and generate differentiated insights.
- Conduct Competitive Intelligence: Independently execute deep-dive research on companies, industries, and market trends, synthesizing findings into actionable intelligence for the investment team.
- Expert Network Development: Build and maintain a robust network of external contacts, leveraging relationships to access unique perspectives and information not available through traditional research channels.
- Due Diligence Execution: Manage and conduct expert calls and interviews, often independently, to validate investment theses and uncover risks or opportunities.
- Collaborate with Investment Team: Work closely with investment team to integrate field research into the investment process and support high-conviction decision-making.
- Maintain Research Integrity: Ensure all research activities adhere to the highest standards of independence, rigor, and ethical conduct, minimizing reliance on Wall Street research and external expert networks.
- Insight Communication and Reporting: Quickly distill and circulate key findings from expert conversations in real time to support early-stage decision-making, and synthesize comprehensive reports to support the final investment decision
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
- Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience in investigative research, journalism, investor relations, consulting, or a related field, with a demonstrated track record of sourcing and synthesizing expert insights.
- Network: Established network of industry contacts and experts; proven ability to expand and leverage this network for investment research purposes.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to conduct high-level interviews and distill complex information into actionable recommendations.
- Independence: Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously, manage multiple research projects simultaneously, and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with experience in competitive intelligence, market analysis, or due diligence.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required
- Integrity and Discretion: High ethical standards and discretion in handling confidential information.
