The organization has oversight for material regulatory reporting across all of JPMorgan’s lines of business. External reports include SEC 10K / 10Q, Regulatory FR Y9C, FFIEC 031 and Basel Pillar III disclosures.

As a firmwide external reporting controller on the Securitization and VIE team, you are responsible for investigating, reviewing and enhancing all external reporting/regulatory reporting related to the Firm’s securitization activity. This team is the main contact for external reporting queries about the activity from stakeholders such as individual Lines of Business (LOB), SEC Reporting, JPM External Reporting teams, and External Regulators. You will also have an opportunity to gain exposure to all external reporting aspects of JP Morgan’s Securitized Products Group (SPG), including Risk Weighted Assets (RWA), capital, and capital allocations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Apply up-to-date product/industry/market knowledge in specialty areas of Securitization reporting.
  • Consolidate, review, and analyze quarterly financial data for accuracy and completeness. Perform quarter-over-quarter variance analytics.
  • Understand market conditions and drivers which impact the Firm’s securitization balances and activity.
  • Coordinate data collection and quarterly business results with various LOBs, Regulatory Controllers and SEC reporting teams.
  • Assist in the thorough assessment of the issues and outcomes.
  • Clearly communicate financial information to the lines of businesses and be able to flag potential issues.
  • Adhere to proof & control procedures to ensure accurate reconciliation between regulatory filings, SEC filings and other published financial reports (e.g., Form 10-Q, Annual Report/Form 10-K, Call Report & FR Y9C, Pillar III, etc).
  • Adhere to various control procedures and edit checks to ensure the integrity of reported financial results.
  • Ensure accurate and complete data submissions to our internal partners in SEC and Reg Reporting.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts around data quality review and external reporting improvement projects.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, etc.
  • Strong technical skills and experience working with large amounts of data (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Results orientated without compromising control, strong attention to detail
  • Experience in controller organization
  • Highly skilled at problem solving, with a logical and tenacious approach
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; able to work on multiple initiatives with competing deadlines
  • Self-motivated and willing to take initiative
  • Knowledge / experience with fixed income products

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Familiarity with Basel 2.5 and Basel 3 Capital regimes preferred, but not required
  • Understanding Balance Sheet and Capital preferred, but not required
