As an Associate within the team, you will leverage your analytical skills and industry expertise to support the Head of Securities Services Risk. You will execute the Securities Services Risk agenda by collaborating with Business, Product, and Risk partners across the Corporate and Investment Bank. Your role involves partnering with Business and Risk partners, such as Credit and Operational Risk, to identify and implement risk and control initiatives. You will oversee comprehensive product risk assessments and new business initiatives within Securities Services. Additionally, you will assist in data analysis and visualization to be shared with management and key stakeholders. As a subject matter expert, you will address risks associated with Securities Services products and perform analytical reviews of risk events to identify key themes, working with Risk and Business contacts to develop action plans. You will provide training and support on key Securities Services products and associated risks to Risk partners. Your responsibilities include collaborating closely with Senior Risk Executives, Product Executives, Legal, and Compliance teams. You will participate in strategic risk projects by supporting the program lead with governance, oversight, and day-to-day management of working groups.

Job responsibilities

  • Execute the Securities Services Risk agenda by engaging with Business, Product, and Risk partners across the CIB
  • Partner with Business and Risk partners (e.g. Credit, Operational Risk, etc.) to identify and implement risk and control initiatives
  • Oversee the effective conduct of end-to-end product risk assessments and new business initiatives across Securities Services
  • Assist in data analysis and visualization, which will be shared with management and key stakeholders
  • Serve as subject matter expert on risks associated with Securities Services products
  • Perform analytical reviews of risk events to identify key themes and partner with Risk and Business contacts to identify and implement action plans
  • Provide training and support on key Securities Services products and associated risks to Risk partners
  • Work closely with Senior Risk Executives & colleagues, Product Executives, Legal and Compliance
  • Participate in strategic risk projects by supporting the program lead with governance, oversight, and day to day management of working groups
  • Assist in the creation, maintenance, amendment, and approval of risk policies, facility types, and credit limits (as applicable)
  • Present periodic updates to Senior Risk Executives, Business and Regulators on status of key initiatives and the overall Securities Services Risk agenda

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 3+ years of work experience in financial services
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Takes responsibility for assigned work; self-starter
  • Consistently meets deadlines with strong execution and time management skills
  • Strong understanding of financial products, corporate finance and market dynamics
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Familiarity of data analysis and visualization required
  • Bachelor degree required

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor degree required, degree in related field preferred
  • Risk Management or Securities Services experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the Securities Services business and risk management principles a plus
