As a Vice President in the Account-Based Payments Network Strategy & Advocacy team, you will play a pivotal role in defining and executing the strategic direction for Chase’s account-based payments initiatives. You will work with industry-leading partners and internal stakeholders to advance our vision for consumer and small business payments, including open banking, instant payments, and cross-border solutions. Your work will directly impact how we deliver value to our customers, deliver on the firm’s most critical priorities, and position Chase at the forefront of payments innovation.
In this role, you will engage with major payment networks and rails such as stable coins, cross border, The Clearing House, The Federal Reserve, Swift, Early Warning Systems, and Nacha. You will lead strategic advocacy and enterprise alignment across multiple lines of business, ensuring Chase’s interests are represented in industry forums and regulatory discussions. You will play a key role in developing senior executive communications and securing alignment on our vision both within the firm and across the industry. Your expertise will support the development of new payment schemes, network rules, and innovative solutions that enhance customer experience and ensure the organization delivers customer value in a rapidly evolving payments ecosystem.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute multi-year strategic plans for account-based payments and related products
- Lead enterprise-wide initiatives to align business objectives with payments network strategies
- Build and expand strategic partnerships with payment networks, industry groups, and peer institutions
- Drive advocacy efforts to influence industry standards, regulatory policies, and network rules
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business, legal, compliance, risk, and finance
- Provide thought leadership and strategic direction to the Account-Based Payments team
- Craft and deliver executive communications and presentations for senior leadership
- Oversee the development of new payment schemes and customer-centric solutions
- Ensure deep collaboration and coordination across internal and external stakeholders
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions
- Lead a high-performing team to deliver results and drive innovation
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- 7+ years of experience at a top-tier strategy firm or internal consulting / corporate strategy, including managerial experience motivating and leading junior team members
- Demonstrated experience managing large, complex strategic initiatives
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive enterprise alignment
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills across multiple levels of an organization
- Executive presence and advanced communication skills, including presentation development
- Experience working in fast-paced environments and handling multiple priorities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience developing and executing advocacy strategies
- Ability to lead and inspire teams to achieve strategic objectives
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- MBA or advanced degree in business, finance, or related field
- Extensive expertise in account-based payments (e.g., ACH, instant payments, open banking, network rules) and driving innovation in payments or financial services
- Financial experience in pricing, modeling, or payments economics
- Experience in product management or technology deliverables tracking
- Broad-based knowledge of payments networks, rails, and related industries
- Experience creating compelling messages for diverse audiences
- Prior experience with regulatory engagement or industry advocacy
