Senior Associate, Account-Based Payments Network Strategy & Advocacy

As a Senior Associate in the Account-Based Payments Network Strategy & Advocacy team, you will play a key role in developing and executing strategic initiatives that advance Chase’s leadership in account-based payments. You will work across consumer and small business segments, partnering with stakeholders to deliver on the firm’s most critical priorities. Your strategic insights and recommendations will help shape our advocacy agenda and position Chase at the forefront of payments innovation.
In this role, you will support the formulation and execution of strategies for Chase’s engagement with major payment networks and rails, including Early Warning Systems, P2P, ACH, instant payments, open banking, stablecoins, and cross-border solutions. You will contribute to the development of new payment schemes and network rules, analyze market trends, and provide strategic recommendations to senior leaders. Your work will drive enterprise alignment, inform decision-making, and help deliver innovative solutions that enhance customer experience and operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and refine strategic plans and initiatives for account-based payments and related products
- Analyze market trends, competitive intelligence, and emerging technologies to inform strategy
- Support the formulation of advocacy agendas and influence industry standards and network rules
- Build and expand strategic partnerships with payment networks, industry groups, and peer institutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including business, legal, compliance, controls, risk, and finance—to align on strategic priorities
- Provide thought leadership and strategic recommendations to the Account-Based Payments team and senior stakeholders
- Craft and deliver clear, compelling communications and presentations for executive audiences
- Facilitate enterprise-wide alignment and drive consensus on strategic initiatives
- Monitor the payments landscape to identify opportunities for innovation and growth
- Lead and inspire team members to achieve strategic objectives
- Ensure deep collaboration and coordination across internal and external stakeholders
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- 5+ years of experience at a top-tier management consulting firm or internal consulting / corporate strategy
- Demonstrated experience working in complex organizations with highly matrixed stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively and influence outcomes
- Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize market intelligence into actionable strategy
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Executive presence and advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to provide upward feedback and contribute thought leadership
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Familiarity with account-based payments (e.g., P2P, ACH, instant payments, open banking, network rules) or strong banking and financial services experience and driving innovation in payments or financial services
- MBA or post-graduate degree
- Financial experience (pricing, modeling, etc.)
- Experience in product management or technology deliverables tracking
- Broad-based knowledge of payments networks/rails and related industries
- Experience creating compelling messages for various target demographics
- Experience supporting regulatory engagement or industry advocacy
