As a Vice President in the International Tax Group at JPMorgan Chase, you will ensure compliance within the realm of international tax. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing U.S. international tax forms, such as Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, and 1118, ensuring accurate and timely filings. Collaborating with Tax Accounting, Tax Planning, and non-U.S. tax teams, you will determine the quarterly foreign tax credit position and maintain comprehensive workpapers. You will promote process improvements and standardization across compliance workflows, contributing to control enhancements and documentation best practices. Managing current and deferred U.S. tax provision calculations for non-U.S. operations, you will coordinate with Tax Accounting on timelines and controls. Partnering with the Tax Planning team, you will model the U.S. tax impact of corporate actions. Supporting the Tax Audit team, you will prepare responses and maintain audit-ready files. You will monitor developments in international tax laws and assess impacts on stakeholders. Additionally, you will coordinate with external advisors on tax return preparation and conduct ad hoc U.S. international tax research. Communicating effectively with both internal and external stakeholders is essential in this role.
Job responsibilities:
Prepare and review U.S. international tax forms (e.g., Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 1118, etc.) included in JPMorgan Chase’s U.S. consolidated return, ensuring accurate, timely, and well‑documented filings.
Collaborate with Tax Accounting, Tax Planning, and non‑U.S. tax teams to determine JPMorgan Chase’s quarterly foreign tax credit (FTC) position by basket; prepare supporting analyses and maintain robust workpapers.
Drive process improvements and standardization across compliance and provision workflows; contribute to control enhancements and documentation best practices.
Manage current and deferred U.S. tax provision calculations for non‑U.S. operations; coordinate with Tax Accounting on timelines, controls, and documentation.
Partner with the Tax Planning team to model the U.S. tax impact of corporate actions.
Support the Tax Audit team by preparing responses, maintaining audit‑ready files, and helping drive appropriate resolution of audits.
Monitor developments in relevant international tax laws and U.S. international tax rules; assess and communicate impacts affected stakeholders.
Coordinate with external advisors on tax return preparation and projects; review work product for technical accuracy and alignment with internal positions and timelines.
Conduct ad hoc U.S. international tax research.
Communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders, both in writing and verbally.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
Minimum of 7 years of tax experience, with 4+ years focused on U.S. international tax; strong command of key concepts including foreign tax credits, GILTI, BEAT, and Subpart F.
Experience in public accounting and/or working with a U.S.‑based multinational is required.
Experience in using OneSource Income Tax and/or OneSource Tax Provision is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
An advanced degree with emphasis in tax, or an MST and/ or a CPA license.
Experience with Alteryx, BI tools and SAP is a plus.
Experience using Gen AI tools in developing solutions for tax workflows strongly preferred.
