Impact Finance - Vice President, Fund Investing

Join the Impact Finance (IF) team as a Vice President of Fund Investing to support capital deployment to partners focused on fostering healthy, resilient communities, and a strong economy.
As a Vice President on the Impact Finance team you will play a key role in advancing the firm’s principal impact investing strategy. In this position, you will help originate, structure and execute new investments in private equity and private credit funds that support meaningful social outcomes. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across the firm, contributing to the growth and direction of our impact platform.
IF invests the firm’s principal capital to advance JPMorgan Chase's impact objectives with a focus on four key issue areas: Careers and Skills, Financial Health & Wealth Creation, Community Development, and Business Growth & Entrepreneurship. IF operates as a multi-asset impact investing and lending platform and its products include: low-cost loans to mission-driven financial intermediaries, such as Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), investments as a Limited Partner in funds, and investments in early-stage, mission-driven companies.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the sourcing, evaluation and management of a diversified portfolio of mission-driven fund investments
- Serve as relationship manager and primary point of contact for prospective and existing fund managers
- Own due diligence for new funds, including investment and operational diligence
- Prepare and present investment materials to the Impact Finance Equity Investment Committee, influencing key allocation decisions
- Lead negotiations with counterparties on investment terms and legal agreements
- Support ongoing portfolio management, including serving on LPACs and conducting performance analysis, benchmarking and valuation reviews
- Collaborate with colleagues across Corporate Responsibility and Lines of Business to help set and align strategic objectives
- Conduct impact assessments for each investment opportunity, partnering with colleagues in Global Philanthropy
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 7+ years of experience in a fund-of-funds investment role, or in an equity fund diligence role
- Demonstrated passion for social enterprise or development finance
- Proven ability to independently develop investment theses and business strategies, construct compelling narratives, and present to senior executives
- Comfort leading the execution of equity fund investment transactions from diligence through close
- Familiarity with fund cash flow modeling, including capital call and distribution expectations, return waterfalls and performance metrics such as IRR, DPI and TVPI
- Strong judgment, initiative, and prioritization skills; adept at managing multiple workstreams and deadlines to drive results
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Additional experience in investment banking or private equity
- Experience with Affordable Housing, Small Business Investment Company (SBIC), or Venture Capital funds
