Global Tech Finance Planning & Analysis Lead - Vice President
J.P. Morgan
Join the Firmwide Technology Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization to lead analytics which shape a $20B technology investment portfolio.
As a Global Tech Analytics Lead within the Technology FP&A team, you will architect data‑driven insights, elevate continuous planning, and deliver CFO/CIO‑ready narratives that influence high‑profile funding and prioritization decisions across the Firm. You will build repeatable intelligence, modernize our financial framework, and serve as a consultative partner to senior leaders on core and topical challenges.
Job responsibilities
- Connect spend patterns to product health and unit economics (cost‑to‑serve, contribution margin) to inform portfolio trade‑offs and decommission/scale decisions. Build price/volume/mix and run‑change walks to explain variance drivers and elevate decision velocity for senior stakeholders.
- Analyze product expense trends and link them to adoption, reliability, and customer outcomes; curate portfolio characteristics and heatmaps that prioritize strategic bets while safeguarding critical run services.
- Play a key role in developing, analyzing and enhancing continuous planning methodologies and assumptions with a goal of reducing forecast error and compressing re‑forecast cycle times.
- Apply corporate finance rigor (WACC, NPV/IRR, payback) to investment evaluations and re‑sequencing; design base/downside/strategic scenarios to optimize capital allocation across the tech portfolio.
- Drive cloud cost optimization and embed FinOps insights into product P&Ls and planning baselines.
Industrialize repeatable processes using Python/SQL/Alteryx and other tools for intelligence generation, driving efficiency, reducing errors, and maximizing speed to actionable insights. Build executive dashboards (e.g., Tableau) with scenario toggles and drill‑downs to speed insights from data to decision.
- Deliver concise, well‑structured readouts for CFO/CIO forums and capital committees, synthesizing analytics into clear calls to action. Operate as an internal consultant—align diverse stakeholders, manage dependencies, and drive outcomes in a fast‑paced environment.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

- Quantitatively focused undergraduate and/or graduate degree or other demonstrated quantitative and analytical ability
