As the Executive Director of General Management for Alternative Lending, you will have end-to-end ownership of both our existing lending product, Chase Pay in 4, and the development, launch, and optimization of new consumer lending products. You will be responsible for full P&L management in partnership with Finance and Risk, ensuring financial performance and sustainable growth. You will lead a high-performing team, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and balance strategic vision with hands-on operational execution. Success in this role will be measured by your ability to manage in-market products while also preparing new products to go to market, drive adoption and grow the business—all while maintaining a strong controls environment and adhering to regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
Drive the strategic development, launch, and optimization of consumer lending products, including defining value propositions, target audiences, and customer benefits.
Own the P&L for all products, partnering closely with Finance and Risk to ensure financial targets are met.
Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
Manage business operations for existing products, with a focus on loss rates and operational excellence.
Accelerate new product development, focusing on rapid go-to-market, adoption, pricing optimization, and revenue generation.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, maintaining a robust controls environment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Analytics, Legal, Finance, Design, Risk) to deliver on business objectives and customer needs.
Develop and monitor key performance metrics and dashboards to track product performance and inform decision-making.
Serve as a subject matter expert on the US Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) market, maintaining up-to-date competitive insights.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 10+ years of experience in strategy, general management, or a relevant domain, with a focus on consumer lending.
- Proven track record of managing new business or product launches and optimizing in-market products.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in credit risk, financial modeling, and P&L management.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams and collaborating with cross-functional partners.
- Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and controls in a US banking environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to executive audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Comfort in a fast-paced, ambiguous, collaborative and cross-functional environment
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Master’s degree preferred.
