DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Serve as part of a team of software engineers engaged in large scale software development working in a distributed environment as a lead engineer for the team. Analyze, design, and engineer computer software. Develop program specifications and detail design documents. Participate in the development of functional specifications. Develop prototypes from functional specifications. Design and engineer sub-software and components. Code, test, debug, and deploy to production programs and software. Develop data conversion routines and security components to support engineering and development in production environment. Complete documentation needed for the successful deployment, operations, support, and ongoing maintenance of the software including regulatory and compliance documentation as required. Assist users in testing, training, and preparation for operations. Work with object-oriented development tools and techniques and on multiple platforms and/or with multiple methodologies. Provide updates to project leadership and technical leads to assist with monitoring of performance standards under Service Level Agreement (SLA). Participate in the development of tests to have continuous deployment assurance such as Component, Contract, and Performance Testing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: developing interactive and dynamic web interfaces using HTML, JavaScript, and REACT to create responsive frontends for web platforms; utilizing advanced techniques to develop robust backend system with multithreading, multiprocessing using Java and J2EE; performing project architecture planning and design to produce high-performance micro services federated database design on modern infrastructure such as Pivotal cloud; developing software or Microservices environment to deploy as a REST API; developing software utilizing Spring, Spring Boot, Maven, or Gradle to resolve application dependencies; building applications that utilize JSON or XML formatted data files and service payloads for data transfer; developing real-time data streaming and processing to enable seamless communication between distributed systems through high-throughput, low latency message pipeline using Kafka; developing data modeling; analyzing and designing data structure and database table creation and managing them using tools such as Erwin data modeler; performing end-to-end tests using API test automation framework such as Cucumber or Gherkin syntax; conducting performance testing using tools such as Apache JMeter, or Postman to simulate user traffic, measure response times, and identify bottlenecks; utilizing Agile software development to help teams manage backlogs, track progress within sprints, and streamline communication using tools such as Jira and version control tools such as GIT; developing highly scalable distributed NoSQL database of Cassandra to handle large volumes of structured data and ensure continuous service for users; utilizing powerful tools used for logging, monitoring, and analyzing data such as Splunk and application performance monitoring tools such as Dynatrace; developing and debugging code and enhancing productivity; streamlining the Java development process using integrated development environment (IDE) tools such as IntelliJ or Eclipse; and using LOG4J for logging application behavior to analyze issues or anomalies.

Full-Time. Salary: $171,200.00-$215,000.00 per year.
