As an Executive Director Data Owner within Connected Commerce, you will spearhead key initiatives to make data a trusted, product-ready asset—accelerating business development, fueling growth, and elevating the Chase customer experience.
You will be central to the firm’s push for enabling faster innovation by ensuring data is high-quality, well-governed, and protected—and ready to power AI and next-generation product experiences. In close partnership with product leaders, you’ll define and deliver data that meets rigorous quality, risk, and control standards, while collaborating with Analytics leaders to unlock value through advanced analytics and scalable insights.
As an Executive Director, Data Owner at JPMorganChase within Connected Commerce, you will serve as a subject matter expert in data publishing, governance, and consulting for distinct domains, coordinating between providers and consumers to ensure business data is well-understood, fit for purpose, AI-ready, and seamlessly integrated into business and analytics platforms. You will shape and drive the strategy for elevating data quality, lineage, metadata, and usage across the domains, while acting as a Product Owner for your data—defining the roadmap for data availability, prioritizing delivery, and ensuring measurable outcomes for stakeholders with the data that you publish. You will also be accountable for identifying, assessing, and mitigating data risks across the full data lifecycle, ensuring compliance with firmwide policies, standards, and controls requirements.

Job responsibilities
- Define and execute a strategy for data development and delivery to support strategic business objectives, operations, advanced analytics, and reporting.
- Act as Product Owner for data engineering delivery, providing requirements and prioritizing backlogs for data publishing needs.
- Partner closely with product leaders to advise how data can strengthen initiatives and scale product features.
- Build and maintain relationships with data delivery partners and consumers, including senior stakeholders across functions.
- Drive execution milestones, proactively mitigating risks and inefficiencies in the product development lifecycle.
- Strengthen data foundations for AI by improving metadata across business, technical, and operational dimensions.
- Enable self-service analytics and AI development by improving dataset visibility, access, and usability.
- Establish and enforce expectations for data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness, coordinating resources to meet quality requirements.
- Direct processes to identify, monitor, and mitigate data risks across the data lifecycle, including protection, retention, storage, use, and quality.
- Support analytics leaders by identifying and enabling data integration into analytics platforms and maintaining metrics and reporting on data health.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience
- 10 years of industry experience in a data-related field
- Deep subject matter expertise in business, product, analytics, or data management
- Proven experience in data publishing, data governance, and data lifecycle risk management
- Demonstrated ability to manage delivery across multiple workstreams with varying timelines and cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong ability to define data roadmaps, prioritize backlogs, and drive measurable outcomes as a data product owner
- Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Expertise in data management, governance, big data platforms, or data architecture.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Understanding of Agile technology development methodology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to senior audiences.
