As a User Acceptance Testing Lead in the Small and Mid-sized Business Payments team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the UAT automation roadmap and owning end-to-end UAT execution. You will establish a disciplined UAT and controls-validation operating model, and provide transparent, data-driven reporting that builds stakeholder confidence in release readiness. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-visibility features to our customers. You will also lead the expansion of automated regression across a suite of payments products and own production validation post-release. This role aligns with the Product organization, and you will directly manage a team of UAT associates.
Job responsibilities
- Lead UAT planning, execution, defect triage, and sign-off for monthly releases across Small and Mid-sized Business Payments
- Define and drive a test automation roadmap, prioritizing stable regression flows and control-critical checks in partnership with engineering and QA
- Manage and develop a team of UAT associates, including setting priorities for work by risk/complexity, cross-training team members on test automation, and enforcing quality standards for scripts and evidence
- Build stakeholder confidence through clear release status, risk narratives, and go/no-go recommendations grounded in execution metrics and defect trends
- Ensure payment controls are validated as part of UAT, with audit-ready evidence and traceability
- Own UAT execution and defect management workflows in JIRA, including severity standards, SLAs, aging management, and retest discipline
- Lead production validation and coordinate with operations/support to drive closure for post-release issues
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 5+ years of experience in UAT/test delivery for complex business applications, with direct ownership of UAT outcomes in a recurring release cadence
- 2+ years of people management experience (or equivalent accountability leading a small testing team), with demonstrated coaching and performance management
- Proven ability to design and execute risk-based UAT plans, define entry/exit criteria, and drive release readiness decisions
- Proficiency with UDF and Cucumber, including creating/maintaining automated test scenarios and interpreting results to drive triage and sign-off decisions
- Hands-on experience using JIRA for test execution tracking and defect lifecycle management (workflows, dashboards, traceability)
- Demonstrated rigor in controls validation and producing audit-ready test evidence and sign-offs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level status reporting and stakeholder management
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Master’s/MBA degree
- Payments & Banking domain experience (SMB preferred) and understanding of industry workflows, risks, and trends
- Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze requirements, identify gaps, and drive clarification to enable effective testing
