As an Executive Director, Ultimate Rewards (UR) Gift Card Partnerships in Ultimate Rewards, you will manage direct relationships with gift card partners across UR passion areas in addition to our vendor relationship. You will negotiate commercial terms to optimize UR gift card program economics and increase merchant-funded value. You will build a forward-looking partnership roadmap aligned to UR strategy and customer segmentation, and drive cross-functional execution in a highly matrixed environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage direct relationships with gift card partners across UR passion areas and vendor partnership, ensuring strong performance, alignment, and growth over time.
- Negotiate commercial terms to optimize UR program economics and increase merchant-funded value.
- Conduct competitor and market gap analyses to inform partner strategy, prioritization, and portfolio decisions.
- Build and maintain a long-term gift card partnership roadmap aligned with UR program strategy, customer segmentation, and evolving customer needs.
- Partner with Ultimate Rewards Program Management, Finance, and Card GM teams to execute and measure test-and-learn initiatives that improve program performance and customer value.
- Coordinate with Product and Marketing to enhance the end-to-end customer experience, including partner offers, merchandising, and customer communications.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Proven relationship management capabilities and strong negotiation skills with ability to navigate internal stakeholders and align teams behind partner plans.
- Customer-first mentality with the ability to set a clear portfolio strategy and translate it into action.
- Ability to see the big picture while maintaining attention to operational and contractual detail.
- Strong understanding of pricing and commercial levers, with robust contract literacy to drive outcomes through disciplined economics management.
- Proactive, adaptable, and collaborative with ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, matrixed environment.
- Detail-oriented, outcomes-driven leader with a track record of delivering results in complex environments without direct control of resources; willing to roll up sleeves and drive work to completion.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- 10+ years of experience in credit cards, loyalty programs, and/or financial services, with demonstrated ownership of partner/merchant relationships and commercial outcomes.
- At least 5 years in a leadership role, with Demonstrated ability to build and lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
- Excellent presentation, and stakeholder management skills along with experience in financial services or consumer rewards programs strongly preferred.
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
