Job Summary:
As the Executive Director, Freedom & Slate Marketing, you will set and execute the strategic direction for all marketing initiatives across the Freedom & Slate portfolio. You will lead a high-performing team and partner with Brand, Media, PR, Social, and Events / Experiential teams to deliver cohesive, impactful campaigns for existing cardmembers. You will oversee agency relationships, cross-functional collaboration, and performance analytics, ensuring Freedom & Slate remains an industry leader in customer engagement and growth. Role also requires reaching across lines of business including Chase Travel, Offers & Shopping and other areas of the business to ensure the development of connected customer narratives across campaigns. Your leadership will influence senior stakeholders and drive innovation across marketing channels.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the integrated marketing of the Freedom & Slate portfolio, setting vision, priorities and messaging strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Oversee the planning, launch, and management of large-scale, multi-channel marketing campaigns for Freedom & Slate cardmembers.
  • Lead and mentor a team of senior marketers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Direct agency partners in the development of creative assets, messaging, and brand positioning.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with Brand, Media, Social, PR and Events teams to ensure alignment and maximize impact.
  • Collaborate with Analytics, Product, Finance, Legal, and other key stakeholders to develop robust business cases and inform marketing strategies.
  • Design and optimize channel roadmaps for growth, efficiency, and customer engagement.
  • Champion a test-and-learn agenda, leveraging data-driven insights to refine marketing tactics and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor campaign performance, analyze key metrics, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Present strategies, business cases, and results to executive leadership, influencing decision-making at the highest levels.
  • Oversee resource allocation and project prioritization to ensure timely and effective execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure all marketing activities are aligned with brand standards, regulatory requirements, and business goals.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing, brand management, or customer engagement, with significant leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success leading integrated marketing for major consumer brands, ideally within financial services or credit card marketing.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams in a matrixed organization.
  • Strategic, proactive, and results-driven approach to marketing leadership.
  • Expertise in managing complex, multi-channel marketing initiatives and agency relationships.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Keen aptitude for collaboration and proactively reaching across lines of business to drive cohesive strategy
  • Advanced analytical skills, with a track record of leveraging data to inform strategy and drive business outcomes.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and high expectations.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to excellence.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Deep experience in financial services or credit card marketing.
  • Background in agency management, creative leadership, messaging development and brand strategy.
  • Expertise in customer engagement and loyalty strategies.
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership and influencing senior stakeholders.
