As a Product Director in the Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO), Data Governance, you lead innovation through the development of products and features that delight customers. As a leader on the team, you leverage your advanced capabilities to challenge traditional approaches, remove barriers to success, and foster a culture of continuous innovation that helps inspire cross-functional teams to create groundbreaking solutions that address customer needs. You will collaborate with business, technologists, and control partners to define strategy and roadmap for data governance and AI-for-data initiatives. You ensure end-to-end relevance to stakeholder needs, from gathering business requirements through successful production delivery. You bring a strong passion for data, data governance, and AI, and you invest time in learning, researching, and experimenting with new innovations in the field.
The Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) at JPMorganChase accelerates the firm’s data and analytics journey by ensuring the quality, integrity, and security of the firm’s data and by leveraging data to generate insights and drive decision-making. The organization also develops and implements solutions that support commercial goals by harnessing artificial intelligence to develop new products, improve productivity, and enhance risk management effectively and responsibly. In this role, you will help shape data governance strategy and modernize capabilities, including next-generation data governance tooling and AI-for-data solutions. You will operate in a highly collaborative environment, partnering across functions to deliver outcomes under real-world constraints.
Job responsibilities
- Oversees the product roadmap, vision, development, execution, risk management, and business growth targets
- Leads the entire product life cycle through planning, execution, and future development by continuously adapting, developing new products and methodologies, managing risks, and achieving business targets like cost, features, reusability, and reliability to support growth
- Coaches and mentors the product team on best practices, such as solution generation, market research, storyboarding, mind-mapping, prototyping methods, product adoption strategies, and product delivery, enabling them to effectively deliver on objectives
- Owns product performance and is accountable for investing in enhancements to achieve business objectives
- Monitors market trends, conducts competitive analysis, and identifies opportunities for product differentiation
- Drives the development of strategy and roadmaps for data governance initiatives, including next-generation data governance tooling and AI-for-data solutions
- Collaborates with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and engineers to understand use cases, requirements, and dependencies, critically assessing proposed solutions
- Communicates complex ideas effectively to collaborators and senior leaders using precise terminology and relatable examples
- Balances timeliness with quality under tight deadlines, managing multiple priorities and cross-functional partnerships
- Ensures end-to-end relevance to stakeholder needs, from gathering business requirements and working with technology teams to achieve successful delivery
- Partners with business, technology, and control stakeholders to deploy solutions into production
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 8+ years of experience or equivalent expertise delivering products, projects, or technology applications
- Extensive knowledge of the product development life cycle, technical design, and data analytics
- Proven ability to influence the adoption of key product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management
- Experience driving change within organizations and managing stakeholders across multiple functions
- Understanding and hands-on experience building agentic AI systems within regulated or compliance-driven environments
- 8+ years of experience developing enterprise-wide data, data governance, or AI strategy for large, complex organizations
- 8+ years of experience as a product manager, product designer, engineer, data analyst, data scientist, or user researcher
- Strong written and spoken communication skills to translate technical concepts and results to both technical and business audiences
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with business, technologists, and control partners in a highly cross-functional environment
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver with urgency while maintaining high quality under tight deadlines
- Curious, hardworking, and detail-oriented; motivated by complex analytical problems and continuous learning
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Recognized thought leader within a related field
- Prior experience defining and delivering data governance strategy, operating models, and product roadmaps
- Experience with next-generation data governance tooling and/or AI-for-data capabilities (e.g., AI-assisted governance, metadata automation)
- Demonstrated success partnering with engineering teams to deliver solutions into production environments
- Experience working in regulated, compliance-driven, or risk-managed environments with strong control partnership
- Strong executive presence and ability to communicate complex concepts to senior leaders using precise terminology and relatable examples
- Track record of learning, researching, and experimenting with emerging innovations in data, data governance, and applied AI
