As a Senior Product Associate in Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO), Data Governance team, you contribute to the team by leveraging your expertise in product development and optimization to make a significant impact, supported by user research and customer feedback to fuel the creation of innovative products and continuously improve existing offerings. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and play a crucial role in shaping the future of our products and ongoing success. You will support end-to-end product life cycle execution, acting as a key partner in discovery, backlog refinement, delivery, and launch readiness. You will help accelerate JPMorganChase’s data and analytics journey by delivering data governance capabilities, including next-generation tooling and AI-for-data solutions that improve data quality, integrity, and responsible use. You will help ensure solutions meet stakeholder needs while balancing timeliness, quality, and operational excellence.
The Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) is responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity, and security of the firm’s data and for leveraging that data to generate insights and drive decision-making. Within Data Governance, you will collaborate with business, technology, and control partners to define roadmaps and support deployment of solutions into production. This role is well-suited for someone with strong curiosity and a passion for data, data governance, and AI-for-data innovation. You will help establish feedback loops and iteration plans to incorporate user insights and continuously improve product outcomes. You will contribute in a highly collaborative, regulated environment where risk, compliance, and reliability expectations are central to how products are delivered.
Job responsibilities
- Partners with the Product Manager to identify new product opportunities that reflect the needs of our customers and the market through user research and discovery.
- Considers and plans for upstream and downstream implications of new product features on the overall product experience.
- Supports the collection of user research, journey mapping, and market analysis to inform the strategic product roadmap and provide insight on potential product features that provide value to customers.
- Analyzes, tracks, and evaluates product metrics including work to time, cost, and quality targets across the product development life cycle.
- Writes the requirements, epics, and user stories to support product development.
- Supports discovery efforts and market research to uncover customer problems and translate them into roadmap-ready solutions.
- Helps own, maintain, and refine the product backlog, ensuring prioritization aligns to strategic goals and stakeholder outcomes.
- Partners with engineers and subject matter experts to understand use cases, dependencies, and constraints, and to critically assess proposed solutions.
- Contributes to defining and tracking success metrics (e.g., cost, feature/functionality, risk posture, reliability) and uses insights to drive iteration.
- Coordinates with control functions to help ensure product deliverables meet policy, risk, and compliance expectations for regulated environments.
- Establishes feedback loops and iteration plans to incorporate user insights and continuously improve product outcomes.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 3+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area
- Proficient knowledge of the product development life cycle
- Experience in product life cycle activities including discovery and requirements definition
- Developing knowledge of data analytics and data literacy
- Experience supporting product strategy, roadmap development, and value management through metrics and stakeholder input.
- Ability to translate ambiguous problem statements into clear requirements, epics, and user stories in partnership with engineers and SMEs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working in highly collaborative environments with business, technology, and control partners to deliver production outcomes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail, comfortable using data to drive decisions and measure outcomes.
- Exposure to data governance and/or responsible data practices, including quality, integrity, lineage, catalog/metadata, stewardship, controls, and/or policy enablement.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Demonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization
- Experience with data governance domains (e.g., data quality, metadata/catalog, lineage, controls, stewardship, and/or policy enablement)
- Experience delivering enterprise platforms or tooling used by diverse stakeholder groups across functions
- Experience working in financial services or another highly regulated industry, partnering with risk/compliance stakeholders
- Familiarity with AI/ML product delivery patterns, including responsible AI considerations and model risk/controls expectations
- Experience operating products at scale with a focus on resiliency, stability, and operational excellence
- Track record of influencing stakeholders and driving alignment across cross-functional teams
