Utility Team Lead
Join our dynamic team as a Stewarding Operations Leader, where you’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment and play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless service for executive assistants and events managers. You will be the driving force behind operational excellence, collaborating across departments and leading the Utility team to deliver outstanding results every day.
As a Utility Lead, you will champion seamless operations in a fast-paced environment, coordinating with Front and Back of House managers to anticipate and fulfill daily and event requirements. You will collaborate across departments to ensure all service items are available, direct and empower the Utility team to maintain a safe and professional workspace, and oversee the transport of prepared foods and essential items for smooth service delivery. By leading training initiatives and operating state-of-the-art cleaning equipment, you will uphold the highest standards of team appearance and operational excellence. You will implement and enforce standard operating procedures and Department of Health compliant cleaning routines, proactively reduce loss and breakage of service ware, and ensure all food holding and transport equipment is fully operational. Scheduling and adjusting staffing to meet dynamic business needs, providing basic machine maintenance, and celebrating team successes are all part of your leadership approach. Serving as a role model and taking on additional tasks set by the Chef and General Manager, you will drive operational success, elevate team performance, and help create exceptional experiences for clients and guests.
Job responsibilities
Consistently coordinate with Front and Back of House managers to align daily and upcoming event requirements.
Proactively collaborate with all departments to ensure service items are available and ready.
Effectively direct and assist the Utility team in maintaining an efficient and safe work area.
Diligently assist with the transport of prepared foods and clean or soiled items to designated locations.
Thoroughly operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools for optimal performance.
Regularly enforce proper cleaning routines and compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.
Strategically manage and oversee completion of daily tasks by the Utility team.
Continuously implement Standard Operating Procedures to maintain a safe work environment and reduce loss or breakage of service ware.
Actively encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
Reliably schedule the team and adjust staffing as needed to meet operational demands.
Consistently carry out any other reasonable tasks set by the Chef and General Manager.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
Perform essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully in compliance with all federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and quantitative productivity standards.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance in accordance with all federal, state, and local standards.
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Stand for prolonged periods of time.
Move about on foot to accomplish tasks, including frequent movement from place to place within the property; bend, lift, carry, reach and extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
Climb steps regularly.
